Seeing entire message when texting

When I send someone a long text on my Droid X, the text "window" isn't big enough for me to see my entire message. Is there a way to see my entire message as I'm typing it?

Do you mean the keyboard gets in the way? If you want to get rid of the keyboard to see the entire text, simply press the "back" button once, and it should remove the keyboard so you can see your entire text. Then if you want to type more, click on the message and the keyboard will pop back up.

Or you can use landscape mode and have the remainder of the screen dedicated to what you're typing.

If you are using Swype, you can trace from the Swype key to the SYM key, and that will bring up the editing keyboard. From there you can use the arrow keys to move about the data entry field, and see what you already wrote.
