Accessories Seidio 1600mAh extended life battery

Ok i managed to squeeze another charge out of the pebble that gives a total of 5 :) just tried charging my ps3 pad with it and it died after 5min but all in all well worth how much i spent.

yeah about 2hours per charge from 15%-100% but thats not using it in that time so if your still browsing web etc it may take slightly longer
 
Great review! - am liking the Pebble as have tried another battery pack but it will only charge the Desire once

How do you charge the pebble itself, and how long does that take?

To charge the pebble the usb cable that came with it just plugs into the side and then the usb goes to either an AC adapter or into the pc, I have yet to look into how long it should be charged for as i left it on charge last night, i would say around 6/7hours until i woke up this morning and it was fully charged.
 
I read somewhere (possibly here) that someone got a replacement HTC BA-S410 battery and that it appeared to last a bit longer.

Thought I'd give it a try and must say, I notice a slight improvement. Moderate to Heavy usage in a 6.5 Hour period I was down to 60-ish % (I don't know when the standard battery usage monitor goes from 70%-60%. Is it 69%?)

Anyway, its a bit better. Had to plug it in now though s I don't want it die on teh bus journey home.
 
ooooh im so glad you can charge it from an AC adaptor. I assume its in the package right?
im not sure but i was under the impression it was a USB charge only.... though now i think of it...it does seem rather daft :P
 
no am afraid it doesnt come with an AC adaptor but you can use the one that comes with the phone as its a USB port :)

Where did you get this battery from, i want a spare to take with me on long days out but scared of getting something that will damage my phone

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh right this may sound daft ut, can i charge anything Via the desire plug that i usually charge via USB? i have never been too sure coza the difference is amps etc

I was too. I got it on eBay but if you're in the UK best bet is waiting fir stock to come in at play.com

To be honest am unsure of the electronics behind and have only used it for the phone and the pebble, if you look in the manual etc that came with the phone it should state the chargers output current etc.

I bought and built it.
When I mount 4 rechargeble penlites I got 5000mAh portable power with me, good for 3 full charges or enless movie-watching ;)

Hi guys, I signed up a week or two ago after reading Doad13's Pebble review. The review was impressive and I bought the Peeble litterally minutes after reading it. After the purchase was made I decided that I'd finally sign up (after months of lurking) and post my own findings with the Pebble.... So here they are!

After buying it to charge my Desire from inside my cabinet at work I was happy that the Pebble lived up to my high expectations. 2 hours to a full charge from about 10-20% power is what I'm getting (as is doad13).

I'm just recently back from Rockness Music Festival today and obviously & took my new toy with me to keep my Desire tip top for power over the 3 days away from civilisation.

On the Saturday night when the Missus had crashed out I decided to sit outside and read all the news I had missed from the UK newspapers (AG Newspapers App - 5* & Free). I found that with the phone being in constant browsing use during the charge it took approximately 3.5 - 4 hours charge. I was still happy with that though, after all that was roughly 3.5 of use while charging.

However what I did find a bit of a let down was that a slight bit of movement on the wire during the charge would completely halt the charge altogether. This happened three or four times before I figured it out. What I was impressed with was that the Pebble thankfully switched itself off when this did happen instead of burning the precious power away.

This got a bit irritating as when using a touchscreen phone for browsing, pinch zoom etc the phone/hand is bound to move ever so slightly and this was all it needed for the Pebble to cut the charge.

I suspect this particular problem however lies in the DC>MINI USB adapter supplied with the Pebble though as I have no problems using the cables supplied in box with the Desire by HTC with or without movement. Also, when charging this Missus' iPhone there was no issues with cable movement or charges being cut off.

During the weekend I got 3 full Desire charges & 1 iPhone charge out of the pebble, with a little bit of power left (reading low) but I would definelty say I'm thoroughly happy. Yeah its a bit crappy that a little of movement to the wire during the charge would cut the charge but overall I'm thoroughly impressed with the pebble and would recomend it to anyone considering a large capacity charger.

In the next few weeks I'm going to purchase a new DC>MINI USB adapter (
 
Well am glad someone else has positives to say on the charger, I read this on my phone while out and had a check with the adapter and I can only presume that it must be a faulty adapter as mine seems to work fine.

What sort of movement does it usually cut off with? For example am replying via tapatalk ie. My phone now while on charge using the adapter and it hasn't yet cut out on me.

Thanks for the info about how long a charge will be while using it, am quite impressed with that as i have yet to test the charge rate while using my desire.

From what i have read into this charging via AC is a higher current so should be faster, please correct me if i am wrong.

Has anyone tested this? Gotta say the cable supplied with the pebble looks kinda annoying with the adapter. Would far prefer to use a standard cable
 
My Pebble arrived last week, but last night I finally returned home and left it overnight for the initial charge. Thanks doad13 for the thumbs up on that one :)

I like the design a lot. That plushy feel under the fingers is really exceptional. I don't have any problems with my cable/connector. I'm sorry to hear about yours EightSixteen.

I cannot find a short micro USB cable I got with Mophie Juice Pack Air to try it with Pebble to see if the length of the cable is what determines whether the Pebble will deliver 500 mAh (USB charger) or more (950, as an AC charger). If I find it, I will let you know.

I found a tin box to carry all those connectors. I took a box meant for little weights for my Logitech G9x. I practically need all of the connectors when traveling with my girlfriend. She has SE and an iPod Touch, I have Nokia and Desire and the only one left unused is mini USB :)
