Accessories Seidio 1750 Follow Up

That's not the battery, it's the phone. If you can remember when you get up in the morning, leave your phone plugged in but turn it off for about 20 minutes. You'll get more of a charge and won't see that drastic drop within the first hour.

that's a very good point, I tried that one day this week and it made a definite difference. I just hate turning my phone off!

Me too. I usually do it while I'm showering and getting ready for work in the morning. I'm not going to be answering the phone regardless at that time so it doesn't really matter to me if it's off.

No offense to anyone here, and I mean it, but...

There have been so many conflicting reports here on the Seidio 1750 and, frankly, so many other batteries, that I've concluding the "battery reports" here are totally useless.

What is needed is an accepted test suite, a way to run the suite, and a way to record and present the results. Otherwise, all that gets reported is widely varying anecdotal information.

EXACTLY! Without a scientific method approach, everything posted is anecdotal. To batteryboss' defense, he used a pricey battery analyzer that uses load variations and CONSISTENT techniques using software to test each battery under the SAME EXACT SCENARIOS . hakr100 - thanks for your post. As an electrical engineer myself, I appreciate you taking this perspective.

So what, we shouldn't comment on the battery unless we have scientific proof to back it up? That's kind of silly. Not everybody has access to the tools and equipment necessary to test it the way you're asking. Without the first hand experience of people who have used the battery, we've got nothing. Yes it's anecdotal and yes people need to realize that their mileage will vary, but it's better than nothing.

Exactly, mine's about to die because I've been using it CONSTANTLY today to try to run it dead. I still have about 6% left and I unplugged it around 6:30-7 this morning. I'm pretty happy with it! There's no way I'll be using it this much on a regular basis, I was literally just sitting at home and playing with it all day because I knew I had to kill it for the first cycle.

I don't need a scientific test to know the stock battery would have been dead by 2pm pretty easily with this use.

So after my second full charge cycle, I pulled my inc with the 1750 in it. I had played music and used internet for several hours (probably 3) I weas sitting at about 59%, then I went over to a friends house (out in the country) and dropped to no signal or 1X and I dropped from 59% to 0 in exactly 2 hours.

I know radio chews up battery, but is this out performance of the question?

I guess I'll find out tomorrow how it goes but I think I'll take my stock with me as a backup... I really don't need to be left stranded again.

i have noticed that when i have a weak signal all day, the battery dies faster. i work in either durham, nc (major city, plenty of cell coverage) or bear creek, nc (rural, towers are far and few between). i get much better battery life in the city. hands down. i use my phone for work to access the internet, so it gets pretty much the same type of use all day. this is with the stock battery. plannig on upgrading to a bigger battery later on, just havent decided on which one yet.

I just got my 1750 yesterday but i have a small question...

in the instructions it says to allow 8 hours for initial charge time... is that with the phone on or off?

PS. i plugged my phone in for a 5 min phone call cuz it was close to dying and I didn't want it to in the middle of the call. I unplugged it as soon as i was done and my phone is still goin strong haha this thing won't die!!!

One very satisfied customer in his 15th hour on the first charge.

The improvement you'll see using the seidio over the stock battery is marginal to say the least. I think I'm gonna try the TP2 1500.

still working off the first charge, unplugged it last night at like 9pm, still have like 16% after 25 hours of light use, had an issue where settings was force closing for some unknown reason so had to reset, so dont have accurate awake time numbers, but based on the last time i saw it, id say somewhere around 4 -5 hours...like i said, light use.

Going on a road trip this week, so we'll see how it does on a day to day basis with gps/radio running more consistently. but so far, loving the 1750, will plug it in in a couple of hours tonight, which will put me at like 27+ hours off the initial charge.

If you'd call 16 hours of EXTREMELY heavy use marginal, then yeah, it's marginal at the least.

Mine just died after unplugging it before 7 this morning with MAYBE 5 minutes on the charger during a call.

I'm going to charge it overnight tonight and take it to work where I have horrible cell signal. I've never been able to make it through the day at work on the stock battery, it always dies before I leave to drive home (because it's searching for signal) with very moderate use. I'll do the same thing with this tomorrow and see if it can get me home.

40% battery left:
21h 15m since unplugged

Cell Standby - 41%
Phone Idle - 37%
Android System - 17%
Display - 5%

This is with light use, and I've had data on for a few hours w/ AIM, push exchange/gmail. Ran camera for a while (~5m), and WiFi (10-15m), and GPS off the whole time. I need to go to sleep soon, so putting it on charge, but I'm sure it would've lasted a few more hours. Not bad, I think this battery was worth buying personally.

Wow! You made a believer out of me.

Not trying to make a believer out of anyone. I'm just relaying my experiences. As I said earlier, your mileage may vary and the results I'm seeing may not be the same for the guy next to me. That's why I'm not claiming that my experiences are fact.

I've used the sedio 1750 in my Eris and now in the Inc. In both phones, marginal increase in battery life.

For those of you who "claim" to be getting some unbelievable huge gains in battery life, or 21 hours since unplug and have like 40-50% battery left, you must be delusional. Just like this clown a few posts above, 34.50. I'm like wtf is this all about? LOL. Again, LOL.

And one more thing. Until there is an app or some other schizit that can determine real hard evidence about battery life, all you claims to fame are just subjective. Read that again, subjective. LOL
