Accessories Seidio 1750 Follow Up

My hours are about 7-9 hours MAX. How do I prove to them in VRZ store?

Can I ask you, what are you during these 7-9 hours? What settings do you use and what are you actually doing on the phone during this time. Also can you check your signal strength under settings?

Can some one with some test hardware, run a battery burn down and time both their stock 1300 battery against the seidio 1750 to shut the "i need proof", guys the hell up.

What this thread is and was intended to do is to get a response from the DI users about how their 1750 is doing for them..

"for your health"

I got my yesterday, fully charged over night with the phone off and I still have 40% battery left. With the OEM battery my phone would be dead by now, I used the phone a little more today then I usually do. I am really happy with this battery.

Thanks for all your input guys!!

Btw I'm all for negative feedback - I just don't understand why 1 dude that has a website and forum with 16 total posts should hold credibility over everyone else ya know :)

Seido 1750 is the best solution for those who want to keep the slim profile and get the best possible battery life.

If only there was a fix that didn't require me turning off the phone to get that last 10% juiced up.

I'm perplexed honestly. I don't understand the science behind it or how they would miss this. It seems like down to the basics.

Oh well. Really my only qualm.

I've never heard that 10% juice claim before....hmmm...the 1750 seems like a winner....now if they can just get those cases done already...

I know that I've seen huge gains in the week and a half that I've had my 1750. I don't have an exact number, but I can tell you that my co-worker and his wife have seen similar results.
I try to go with the "drain my battery then re-charge for 8 hours for a few (8) cycles" tip and actually found myself trying to kill the battery every night. This never happened with the 1300, I never had a problem with it shutting down before bed. My co-worker sent me a txt before bed asking, "how do we drain these batteries lol". I always ended up turning on all my radios and cranking the brightness to max for the last couple of hours while watching videos and playing games.
No hard numbers, but I know I'm getting more and that I can get through the day comfortably.

Thanks for the feedback guys...was waiting to order one of these but it seems to be worth the money. Just ordered from Amazon Prime, should have it tomorrow. Thanks again!

After just 3 power cycles with the Seidio I am now able to make it 24 hours. I hope it will continue to get better, but if not, I don't mind. 24 hours was my benchmark.

Needless to say, I am very happy with the Seidio battery and will be keeping it. All I ever want to be able to do is make it through a FULL day (wake to sleep) without having to think about my battery and while not having to make any sacrifices on what I want to use. With the Seidio battery "I" am able to achieve this goal.

And THAT'S what makes the phone so INCREDIBLE.

Hah.

Anyway, what's your daily (average) usage like?

I want to get the Seidio but saw the 1600 mAh for $15 and am considering that.

I thought it was better then yesterday I had to spend the day in the hospital with my wife:( had to turn the phone off at 4 pm because I was down to 20% with a full over night charge.

Everyone needs to remember their location and signal strength if it differs from their everyday routine. A phone trying to maintain a weak signal will kill and/or drain a battery, just something to keep in mind.

I've noticed with mine it pretty much allows the phone with similar usage to keep up battery wise with the Storm2. which is pretty good considering that BB compresses all the data and I have way fewer things running on the storm. With the stock batt I had no choice but to charge at some point during the day, this one usually makes it with normal (for me) usage. So Batteryboss or not it is an improvement, and yes I am sick of seeing that one site mentioned over and over ;)
Should you rush out and buy one? Up to you, if you can stretch the stock battery through the day normally then I would say it would be more cost effective to pick up a cheapy spare+charger and keep it handy for emergencies. If you cant and dont want to be pulling the battery out every day for a swap pick up the 1750.
Oh how I miss my 3500 in the Eris, I could jump start cars, play games stream music talk all day long and still have some battery left over.

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to chime in and tell you my experiences. I basically *had* the Seidio battery up until yesterday from the day it launched and I can tell you in my 3 weeks experience with it that it didn't hold nearly as long of a charge as it did when I first got it.

I have the stats on this thread to prove my point. Read through my posts, and for the 4 - 5 tests of real world trials that I did run, you'll notice my up time and awake time decrease significantly as time wore on.

I may have made a couple mistakes that I want you guys to be aware of while using this battery:

  1. DO NOT keep switching out your stock battery and this one. The phone seems to calibrate better with just one battery for longer periods of time.
  2. Try to monitor exactly which apps you are installing and if you notice a sudden drop in battery life (in normal usage patterns) go back and remove the latest installed apps.
  3. DO NOT let your battery get to no charge and stay there for days. I let my seidio sit for about 4-5 days with no charge while I tried stock for a while to compare.
  4. Let the phone rest under heavy usage if you are noticing that the temp is approaching 100F. I think that may have damaged my battery somewhat.
  5. Use WIFI ALL THE TIME if you can! This goes for every Incredible user actually...

I hope my tips help someone here who has the Seidio. I am not trying to bash the battery or be negative on this thread. I am only trying to post my experiences in the hope that someone else will benefit. For my habits and my usage patterns I've decided to hold out and get an extended 2150mAh battery when it arrives.

If you all have any questions, shoot me a PM and I'd be glad to share my experiences and knowledge.

Thanks!
-Elo

I didn't realize you had to give it an 8 hour charge first time. I hope I didn't screw anything up. :(

Charged it overnight with the phone off last night, so let's see how things go this time around.

this thread is convincing me to go to verizon store and ask for a replacement battery b/c i can barely get 6-8 hours with maybe 1.5 hrs of heavy use (Watching videos), another 3.5 hrs idle/light usage and then maybe another 30 mins heavy use by which time its down to 20% and ready to die.

how does one avoid this??? power off phone, so it reconnects to closer tower?

how long have you been charging? if you have only fully drained and charged once or twice, you may need to wait a few more cycles IMO.

also, is there a battery program (don't need a widget) that is recommended (ie: doesn't eat more battery power alone) for seeing the actual %? I know you can dial like *#*# something, but that's annoying and I can't seem to assign it as a contact b/c it automatically goes into the area.

well it drained completely only once, but i had cycled through a few charges before that.

since then I keep it charged via usb at work, so I haven't allowed it to drain completely again

however, from what I've read, the concept of draining the battery to fully charge it is nonsense with this types of batteries.

Well someone might want to tell Seidio that, since the little piece of cardboard that comes in the box says "performance will increase after 5-6 full charges".
