Accessories Seidio 1750 Follow Up

Yes, "taking advantage" by being the first. Or... they got my business because they fulfilled a need I had before anyone else did. I'm not going to hold off on buying a product in the off chance that someone else might make one someday down the road.

On Monday I charged my stock battery while the phone was off until JUST when I got to work at about 2:45pm. When I left at 11pm the battery was about to hit its last tick. That was with fairly heavy use in an area where the signal cuts out a lot (which eats battery alive). So, really, about 10 hours of battery total is decent.

Today, I charged my Seidio overnight with the phone off. I took it off the charger at 8:30am and used the phone fairly steadily all day, including using it for music and video multiple times. The only charges it got between 8:30am and 3:00pm were a few minutes here and there while I transferred data and the 20 minute car ride to work. When I left work at 11:15pm I had just hit the "warning: 9%" message.

So my stock battery could go about 10 hours at my job on a full charge. The Seidio lasts through my shift after being off the charger and used heavily for seven hours. And when I -got- to work, the battery meter was still pretty dang high.

I'll use it for emergency purposes mostly.. But leaving it fully charged or fully drained is bad for it. Heat is the worst.

I want to carry the stock battery around with me to use if necessary as a backup, so would like to keep it at more than 40% in order to provide more backup time. I'd rather not swap batteries every day to make sure the back connection doesn't get worn out. So how big a charge can I keep in it without seriously shortening the life, 60% maybe?
 
OK... Well I am not battery expert... And I love the DI.... but I have just struggled with the battery on the 1750mah....its very frustrating! I have tried all the tricks and stuff and nothing really gets me more than about 9-10 hours...

yes I know then just charge it.. stop complaining... Blah Blah Blah...

I have been charging and charging.... Using the Airplane Mode Trick, Shutting Down Brightness, turn off animation, etc... The battery seems to be getting worse... I dont know...

Anyway so this morning I reset it to factory and will leave it like that for a couple of days and see if anything chages... not going to install anything... Lets see how it does... I am a bit frustrated with the battery, I had the ERIS prior and I think it did better...

the only real apps I was using were handcent and beautiful widgets...
 
Just need to make sure youre friendstream or any of that crap isn't updating frequently, that is a big battery drain.
 
I have my Exchange and Gmail "As Items Arrive"... thats about the extent of it... Dont use facebook, twitter or frienstream...
 
Today is my first charge, im very impressed. Up 13 hours now, its at 73% batt life. Usually with the stock batt, i would have already charging it.
 
I just got my Seidio 1750 today! Excited to try it out...gonna charge it (with my phone off) overnight and see what the improvement is like...

From what I've been reading I should definitely see an improvement from my oem (which gives me 4-6 hours...)

Well I got mine today as well, will have to see if I notice any difference in using it tomorrow. I tried testing the OEM (HTC) 1300mAh battery to see if I could determine the fastest way to drain it so I could test it against the Seidio but after about an hour of very heavy use the battery only went down 3 "bars" under the Battery Info in settings so it would take me a while to fully drain/kill it (will save for another day).
 
I got mine at the perfect time - I checked the mail before going to bed and there it was. I pulled out the stock battery, put in the 1750, left the phone off and went to sleep. This morning I turned the phone on, saw 100% and unplugged it.

The cool thing is that it didn't go down to 93% immediately like the stock (I didn't do the charge, charge again, charge some more thing). I was watching for it, but it never happened. In fact, for the first time since I've had the phone, I was actually able to see the battery percentage (I use Quick Settings) drop from 100% to 93%, without missing a number in between. Been off the charger for about 7 hours and it is reading 93% - but I've barely used it at all in that time (maybe two minutes of phone calls).

Up time: 6:50
Awake time: 0:27:00
 
First let me say that I've had nothing but great interactions with Seidio. But my 1750 battery is getting sent back. I'll try the replacement and hopefully it works. Ever since installing the 1750, phone has been rebooting like crazy and has twice not responded to power button. Had to yank the battery to get it to start. Both times battery was at 50% and 60% when phone stopped responding. I have changed to the original battery several times over the last week and a half and the phone has never rebooted or stopped responding with the original battery, so I know its the 1750. I'm hoping I just got a bad battery...

I gotta be honest I am loving these guys ^. But I do have to wonder being that I bought my Seidio 1750 from Amazon LLC , if I would receive the same consideration should I have a problem?

I don't anticipate having any problems but in the event that I did.....


BTW, my Seidio 1750 just shipped from Sterling VA and I should have it next week. So very excited :D

Hello,

We warranty our products for 180 days from the date of purchase. So in the (unlikely) event that you will need service on your battery after the initial Amazon replacement guarantee, a proper proof of purchase is all you need to get it replaced! :D

Exactly. My place is in a dead spot and I struggle for a signal a lot of the time at my home. This puts a huge drain on the battery ( cell standby and phone idle are both usually over 35-40% ).

Same. At work, my "no signal" time is around 30%. It CONSTANTLY kicks out. The fact that I can get through the day at all is impressive. My old enV Touch was pretty useless.

Kayst, I don't think 60% wouldn't cause much harm. I'll probably keep mine between 55-65% for emergency purposes and 40% when I know I won't be using it for awhile.

The main thing to worry about is keeping it in a cool place and to avoid fully and unfully charged storing.

I think anywhere from 35%-65% would be fine as long as it's in a cool place.

This is day one with my Seidio 1750...and I've notice no difference between this one and the oem battery...

I will give it the benefit of 5 days (i.e. 5 power charge cycles) before I consider a return...

But so far...feeling like this will be disappointing... :(
