Accessories Seidio 1750 Follow Up

Day one with mine and I am noticing an improvement. here are my current stats

61% battery left

cell standby 34%
Phone idle 31%
android system 18%
wi-fi 12%
display 5%

up time 15:35
awake time 2:10

I did the cahrging trick where i shut the phone off after the initial charge completed.

So far i say its a keeper for me even though its still early in the testing.

I got in on the 33 dollar deal so it makes it a better deal for me.

I am sending mine back. I do not notice any difference from the Seidio and the stock battery.

I will give it the benefit of 5 days (i.e. 5 power charge cycles) before I consider a return...

But so far...feeling like this will be disappointing... :(

Hello,

The battery should reach its full capacity by the fifth or sixth charge, if the it doesn't improve, please send us your order information and we will be more than happy to see what we can do for you!

Regards,

Can anyone describe to me the appearance of the packaging your battery arrived in? I'm concerned I may have gotten a used/returned battery....

The outer cardboard was a little bent, no big deal, but the plastic which holds the battery didn't seem right... First, the battery was out of place.. not centered... maybe it got knocked around in shipping... maybe someone else opened it before, I don't know. Second... there were no papers inside... did you guys get anything inside the packaging other the the battery? Like warranty info, or even any extra cardboard pieces to keep the battery in place, or user information... anything? Also, the plastic packaging didn't seem to the the right size for this battery anyway... If you remember, please share your experience with the prod packaging to help me figure out if this was just shipping shake-up or if maybe I received a used battery... :-(

The last thing... when I put it in the phone, it was 64% charged before I plugged in the power. Is that typical for a new battery?

Thanks!

How are you folks getting your batteries so quick? I ordered through Amazon two days ago and given a 5/25 ship date, as of today.

I ordered mine from MyGearStore.com for $33 and free shipping. I got it Wednesday which was about a week and a half after I placed the order. I'm only on day two but I already notice a difference so I'm very happy with it at the moment.

It told me the same thing but came within a week...

However I'm not having as good of luck as some people are with the battery :(

Hope it works out for you :\

Somewhat related but wanted to give my feedback on the seidio as a company. I am posting here because one of the other threads I posted in about my seidio experience was merged into the accessories thread.

I had fitment issues with the battery (1750). I posted I had a gap on my back cover (HTC Incredible). Took pictures and posted them to that thread.

Back up a few months. I contacted seidio about the problem. Sent them pictures. This was on an Eris. However, the battery is the same for the Eris and the Inc. The response was send it back for a refund. No other choice. But because the battery was suppose to fit without issues and because the stock battery just doesn't cut it, I kept the seidio. Of course I was bitter about the whole situation. Lets face it, the 1750 isn't cheap. I pre-ordered it on the website, so I paid full retail.

Now, same problem with the Inc. The cover snaps on but there is a small gap. On the forums here seidio contacted me and offered to do an exchange. They would send out a new battery and I would send in my defective one.

I feel as though this should have been done the first time I reported the problem. It wasn't. To their credit they stepped in and corrected the problem. I received the new battery the other day, with a shipping label to send the old one back.

I am happy to report the new one fits just fine. I am also happy to report that seidio responded to ever message I sent. They kept me updated on when the battery would arrive. They were very polite and professional.

I would highly recommend them as a company to do business with, whether you buy your battery directly from them or not. I just wanted to share this, just in case you are on the fence about purchasing something from them. The do indeed stand behind their products.

Yup me too!

I received my 1750 2 days ago and charged it overnight w/power off as instructed. I purposely ran GPS, WIFI and several apps during the day yesterday to test if the battery life would be better than the stock one. After using from 8:00AM to 11:00PM, the battery still had about 40%, which was way better than the stock one. However, then something strange happened. About 11:20, I took my phone out to check the time and the "battery needs to be charged" message was displayed, the little battery life icon was red and the phone was very hot. It then turned itself off. I was thinking that the battery may have shorted out or something. I put the stock one back in and charged it because I couldn't afford not to have my phone today. But, I'll charge the 1750 overnight again and see what happens.

I bought this from Amazon and the battery life isn't that great. It has been two weeks should I return and get a replacement?

I'd contact both Amazon and Seidio...

See what Amazon's return policy is...and Seidio SHOULD honor some sort of "manufactures warranty"

...Sadly looks like I'll be in the same boat after my 5 charge cycles

Sadly my Siedio went dead around the same time as my oem...no improvement from the oem battery....

I guess I should have waited for HTC to come out with one :\

They won't.

They already have a 1500 you can get though. Next Jump is 2150 which requires an extra back plate but that's back ordered.

Also, are you using it more? Adding apps? Not saying you are wrong but their are always little quirks that change your battery life.

I should have gotten the 1500 then...

No just my usual usage...but I would consider myself a heavy user though....

But the oem battery lasts just as long (for me anyway)

Not sure why you keep posting about this having not given the benefit of the 5 charge cycles you already mentioned. You said yourself this is day one....

Just disappointed that I didn't see improvement on day one like most people...

I still stand by all my comments

Received my $41 1750 Seidio and, like most everyone, I would also agree it is about 35 to maybe even 40% better than the stock battery. I would bet, if we unwrapped our little red 1300 POS stock batteries, we have never heard of the manufacturer. I haven't thought about going into a VzW store and asking for a replacement, but I would like one! Please post if anyone makes the trip, I would like to hear their response...

Don't worry...you have the freedom not to read :)

Hello,

We do believe that you will have a noticeable difference between our and the OEM battery after subsequent charges. In the unlikely event that you don't, please contact Amazon for a replacement first if you are within their replacement policy, or us directly if you are no longer under it. We want you to be absolutely happy with it! :)

Seidio also recommends the following:

In order to obtain the full capacity of your Seidio battery, we highly recommend that you leave the battery/your phone on the charger for an additional 2-3 hours after the charging indicator turns green or the battery status shows full.

I really wanted the Seidio battery but $41 (includes shipping) is steep, considering the 1600 mAh, 3rd party Eris battery replacement was only $20 (after shipping). Plus, Amzer has released an 1800 mAh slim extended battery but it's $55. Hopefully, it'll come down in price.

I like Seidio's cases but I want one that's a good hard case (outside shell) and silicone/rubber on the inside. I think Seidio sells one like that but I don't know how much better it is than my Body Glove. I can still return the Body Glove I think but it's working fine and I like the added thickness.

The good thing is that the 1750 is available on Amazon for about $40 with free 2 day shipping (if you have Amazon Prime). I sent the Seido back to Amazon and Amazon paid for the return (it was not any better than the stock) A new one will be here to tomorrow and I will again give it the 5 days and see how it goes, but this will go back as well if it is not 30% better.
