Help Sensation and Bluetooth keyboard?

Anyone who has one, have you tried a BT keyboard out yet? I have a DHD which doesn't support one but was hoping the Sensation, with BT3, would.

Any information appreciated.

Hmmm. I know there aren't too many Sensations in the wild yet but I thought that someone might have tried a BT keyboard by now.... Is there any way to know if the BT 'HID' profile is on the phone? I believe that's the profile needed for a keyboard.

Also, what's the general consensus on BT with the Sensation for headsets and music streaming to, say, a car head unit? Any problems seen as yet? I ask as none of the reviews I've seen mention BT except to say 'it's supported'.
Thanks

Dave

I have tried my Sensation with Jawbone ERA. It works fine streaming music og in my case MP3 books. But I can't get it to function right as a handfree to the phone. When calling out the sound is on the phone and not on the Jawbone. I'm searching for a solution.

Yes, I do have an HTC Sensation and have been holding onto a dell Bluetooth keyboard for years waiting for the Android phones to become compatible. I can confirm that the Sensation DOES INDEED pair up with the Bluetooth keyboard, and you can type email, GoogleDocs documents and all kinds of things! Finally! A laptop in your pocket! :) Cheers!

Thanks for that update. Sounds like excellent news! One further question: do you know if it's using the BT 'HID' profile to connect with?

I will have my Sensation later in the day, my BT keyboard only has HID profile, so will be able to confirm for you later. I really hope HTC have got their act together and added HID profile support - about time!

BT keyboard working fine, Sensation has HID support (more limited than SGSI&SGSII though, since BT mouse isn't properly supported - mouse movements are detected as swipes onscreen and no mouse cursor).

EDIT: Demo video of MHL going up to Clove Blog soon, lots of stuff in there with emulators and the Phonejoy controller, bluetooth keyboard and browser, HD video playback.

Hi, Dave. I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to tell what profile the bluetooth is using, but it looks like that question has already been answered here by NZtech. All I can confirm is that I was able to type on the bluetooth keyboard after pairing the devices, and my HTC Sensation picked up everything. I wonder if it's a function of the operating system more than of the actual phone. The Sensation is running Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 -- cheers!

Thanks for replying. Yep, as long as the HID profile is supported that answers my real question!

I have a pair of great bluetooth stereo headphones that worked on my previous phone. It seems that the 3.0 version of bluetooth that Sensation uses is not working with my 2.0 version headphones. Music, movies, ringtones are great but when I talk, people on the other end say they hear an echo. Anybody else experiencing this?
