sense apk

Just been looking through my list of installed apps on my rooted stock Rom and realised that the sense part of the phone has/is an .apk.

So my question is this, can I take an updated sense apk e.g 2.1 from another Rom and push using adb into the /system directory. What it function correctly and at 2.1 standard?

no its not just an apk, a lot of the os has been re written and sense merged with the code
