Sense Rebooting

fixed. i backed up my apps in anticipation of a factory reset and nothing since then.
phone knows not to **** with me anymore ;)

so since i switched back to sense yesterday, ive noticed that when off the homescreen for too long, like while browsing the internet, when i return to the homescreen, sense reboots itself. black HTC screen comes up and sense gets a reboot.

i figure maybe this is because the OS is used to switching sense to the background because i was running helix for so long.

anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

You may have a task killer running in the background. I had same problem, uninstalling Spare Parts solved the problem for me.

Do you have the spare parts app? If so, check the Activity/Process management and make sure its set to normal. I set mine to aggressive once and sense kept rebooting as you described.

No, I don't use spare parts either. Thanks though. Do you think this and the trackball issue would be enough to get a replacement?

Maybe uninstall your other home apps like Helix. Since you said that android thinks to put sense in the background in favor of Helix. Maybe if you removed other home apps it wouldn't do that.

That happens to me as well. I'm running 1.5 and every once in awhile ill go from an app to the home screen and sense reboots.

It has only happened a hand full of times though.

Have you tried clearing default, force close, switch to home, then clear home default, force close, and go back to sense?

Force close using atk or something similar? No, I dint use task killers

I think he is suggesting that you go into settings and clear the defaults for your home app then force closing it from settings, switching to home (vanilla android), going back into setting and clearing defaults again, force closing it again and then choosing sense as the default. More or less resetting it.

What this dude said.

"I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

Don't take this the wrong way but I don't know your gender, instead of the possibility of being ignorant and basing your gender on your avatar, I thought I would go with something universal.

:D Not a problem. It has just been a while since anyone called me anything like that. I thought it was funny. ;)

So ive decided to call verizon when I get home. I'm having sense crashing and trackball issues so I'm hoping for a replacement.

Hope you don't get busted with 2.1 being on it. Also, how long have you had this problem?
