Help SetCPU Problem

I was getting pretty good battery life, but got greedy and wanted some more. I have been rooted since last week and was losing about 7-10% of battery every 2 hours when not using the phone and on wifi.

I installed setCPU and set a profile for screen off to have a low clock speed and noticed a drop in battery life. So I deleted the profile and then uninstalled setCPU and rebooted the phone but it seems my battery life is still the same as when I installed it. Is there a specific way to uninstall it, I read to disable and delete any profiles and then uninstalling should completely remove any changes it made to the phone.

I also dont see anything in the cpu usage stats that looks any different than before.. No rogue apps pounding away on the CPU...

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you running a ROM, or stock rooted? If you're stock rooted you need to disable Perflock on the main screen of setCPU.

I am stock rooted with the radio upgrade. I didn't perflock the first time, I just reinstalled and did it. Seems to be better, but its curious that removing the uninstalling it did not go back to the way it was. It should go back to normal as it was after I disabled the profile I stuck in there and removed the app shouldn't it?

Did you have to give it superuser rights when you reinstalled and disabled perflock? If you didn't it likely didn't uninstall properly

you can also delete it from the su app, go into settings>applications>manage>all and clear data. Then open setCPU back up and auto detect settings, then disable perflock and you should be good to go

Nope still seems to be killing my bat, if I go reflash the backup I made with ROM manager wipe any settings that may have been left behind?

I'd suggest trying a custom ROM and a Kernel. The stock HTC Kernel is not as optimized to save battery as the custom ones are. If you're rooted I see no reason you should still be running stock. That's just my opinion, though.

Thats my plan at some point, just havent been able to research the custom roms enough to see which seems like the best fit and in the meantime was trying to get good bat life. :)

Thanks again.
