Root SetCPU Settings

First off love the avatar gobluejd^
second
charging is 1024 max, 245 min, smartass
screen off is 368 max, 245 min, smartass
battery<48% is 768 max, 245 min, smartass
battery<29% is 368 max, 245 min, smartass

If anyones has a suggestion for my setting, please do tell. I am using the 1.9 kernal, and i am not getting as good a battery life that i thought i would with setCPU over the stock kernal.

Great idea for this thread, bluejd! I was already dreading all the forthcoming setCPU threads

Main 245|1228, Smartass
Screen Off 245|245 Priority 100, Smartass

That's all that's needed, IMO. Maybe a temp profile, but people with more than 2 or 3 are really not letting the kernel work its magic

Off topic, bluejd, heard anything regarding the Barely There case for the Bolt??

Normal - 1228 max/245 min, smartass

Profiles:
Screen Off - 245 max/min, powersave, priority:100
Battery < 15% - 806 max/245 min, conservative, priority: 90
Battery < 35% - 960 max/245 min, on demand, priority: 80
Battery < 50% - 1036 max/245 min, smartass, priority: 70

HOORAY BATTERY LIFE!!! :D

it has gone in and out from version to version. i can't remember which kernels had it and which ones didn't, but i can say that the one included with Das BAMF 1.3 has it.

Ahh. okay. I am running stock. Just rooted this afternoon, have loaded any other roms yet....

you should give Das BAMF a try, you don't even have to wipe data/cache. i have flashed from stock to 1.1 -> 1.2 -> 1.2.1 -> 1.3 without ever wiping and haven't run into any issues.

i just flashed das_bamf. flashing 1.3,you dont need to flash over something else,so id personally reccomend ding a full wipe.

you guys that are running with 245 min,do you have any issues with your phone waking up? ive seen some references to not waking up well, and that alerts and notifications may not work as reliably with too slow a processor speed.

ive been keeping my min at 368,and the max at,well, the max :D i was at 1024 and with das left it at 1228.

i have 3 profiles set(screen off, bat<,and temp>) maybe ill cut the latter 2 out and see how that works

i agree only 2 needed.

main: 1228/245 smartass
screen off: 368/245 conservative

No issue here, bud. *Sometimes* my Widgetlocker doesn't slide open as fast as I'd like it to, but I think that's an issue with Widgetlocker and not the 245. If it bothered me enough I'd bump it up to 368|245, but it's like a 1 maybe 2 second freeze at most maybe twice a week so I'm fine with it.

I'm on das Bamf and I run only two settings

1228 MAX 245 Min Smartass

and profile of screen off 245 min 245max

No problem with screen wakes

I am doing the same... :)

I did the same with my OG Droid and there were indeed problems with screen wakes at times. I'm wondering if the RAM on the phone helps with it being able to ramp up quicker from waking up at 245.

Anyway the kernel that comes with das Bamf 1.3 is one of the best I've ever used, and I have used almost every single one that was available on the OG Droid lol.

Something to keep in mind as well, not every phone is going to be able to run every kernel well. We saw this a lot on the OG Droid, different phones (because of the manufacturing process) have different tolerences for voltage. So while we all have TBs some might like ULV (ultra low voltage) kernels, and some might not even be able to boot when using them.

Just a suggestion here ... if you're comparing performance for your SetCPU profiles, it might be a bit more useful to list what kernel you're using. I know some of you have it in your sig, but some of you are also crackflashers and your sig can change over time :-)

Pretty much the same here Jim. I'm maxed out too, just flipped it to smartass, but no screen off profile. I think smartass does that auto for you.

wingsfan, I don't think smartass was working all that well on 1.9. You might want to bump it up to the latest kernel.

Cool, thanx for the info. Im running the das kernel. I just scaled down the min to 245 and deleted my last 2 profiles. See how it goes :)

I will try that. I think i may go back to 1.8, it just seemed to give me better performance all around.
