Help Settings>Storage>"Miscellanious"?

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
What is in "Miscellanious"?
I did a factory reset thinking it would completely wipe internal SD but "Miscellanious" is still like 6Gb

Miscellaneous is downloaded data.

Say for instance, if you download roms, music or anything from an app. It's labeled as miscellaneous.

Factory reset from recovery or actually from security menu? If just recovery, doesn't wipe internal :p

Have to format data in recovery for that :)

Or choose reset from security.

You can't tap the miscellaneous to see what folders you've got?

Mine is mostly from boat browser, lucky Patcher and next launcher

If you wipe from recovery, it'll never wipe the internal sd card, you'd need to select format data to do that.

If you reset from the settings menu, it should though.

I did both bro.. factory reset from settings and from recovery (CWM based).
Its confusing me lol i thought i understood how internal SD worked.
Ive ended up long-pressing SDcard in ES File Explorer and tapped delete and it deleted some of SD then said "can not delete SD"?

You can't delete the actual internal sd partition :p

I'm not familiar with cwm, twrp here. Try this, go into your recovery, go to your wipe menu and see if you can find a format data option. If no, look in the advanced menu.

If that doesn't work, hell, use select all option in es after your already in your internal sd partition and just delete everything in there if it'll let you lol

Thanks mate. Yeah i did format data in recovery and expected that to leave "Misc'" empty. So if i tap Misc' in Storage, should it give me a breakdown of whats in it? Coz it isnt

Ahh wait, i tapped it again and it gave me this
So its CW takin up all the space but when i check the box then tap the bin, it acts like its deleting it but doesnt..
...and in ES, it says Clockworkmod (folder) cant be deleted

ES has never been reliable to me since they updated it, as far as moving and deleting at least.

You tried deleting from an actual root browser?

Does Cwm have an option in recovery to delete files from Internal or external?

The Mrs is watchin Netflix on her Wii tethered to my phone justnow lol so its more than my life is worth to reboot into recovery mate lol. Ill give it a try later. Just dont understand why a folder on a rooted phone refuses to be deleted lol
Thanx4the help though bud

Finaly got it mate. Last night when i tried deleting it in recovery it said "no file found". Today i tried it again and it said the same but the file somehow halved in size. Then i tried deleting in file explorer again and it deleted :)
