[SGS3-R530M] Metropolis Rom [4.3 Touchwiz]

i wanted to fill everyone in on my situation.

wife and i got into a pretty big fight and she is concerned im not spending enough time with my daughter, and to be honest shes right. unfortunatly the only things i do are play some games, do android stuff, play with my daughter and clean the house. can you guess which two are getting a time cut?

this isnt long term and ill still be popping around, just cant promis eill ahve teh time to dedicate like i did before. im not going anywhere or to another phone just trying to take care of some personal issues. im sorry if this upsets anyone but its what i have to do.

Hey family first bro like I've always said... This is just a side thing a hobby if you will... Not worth having issues at home... Nobody asking for updates or fixes will go through it for you... Besides a lot of us here will try and hold it down for u Big Dog :D:D:D:beer::beer::beer:

My take on this ROM after a week or so playing with it -

* Gallery flashes at first (no big deal - just 'disable hardware overlays' in 'developer options')... this is actually quite common amongst many JB ROMs.
(or maybe it's just my phone???... idk)

* 'Odd' buttons in some apps (like when selecting a media player to play a video file... i.e. instead of displaying "Always" or "Just once", instead it says "Enter Pin" or "The S Pen has been detached. Attach")... and says "Install" on the lock screen.
LD's #2 does these things as well, but they are minor annoyances at worst.
No big deal, really...

Other than that, this ROM runs as smooth and slick as snot on a glass doorknob.
Beats the living crap out of what Metro wanted us to have. lol

My only gripes -

1. I wish it would break up large a SMS into several smaller SMS's, instead of converting it into an MMS. (so far, at least on my phone, Chemistry is the only one I've found that will do that)

2. It would be nice to have the option of choosing which toggles to display in the notification bar, and in what order they are shown.

Overall, I give it 4.5 out of 5 razors for the bearded lady's back. Once I find a solution to these minor issues, I'll consider her back to be "clean shaven". lol
;)

hoping to get teh toggles stuff worked out when i can, and i know exactly what your issue is with enter pin in etc. you are using a different framework-res.apk so the strings.xml dont match up :)

and if youd like them to split id suggest checking out xposed mod they have a tweak that lets you do split sms and it only requires installing two apk's :)

Are you suggesting that I don't know what I'm doing?
What - Do you think I'm a n00b?

After installing CWM for the Optimus M and flashing PG's CM7A2 for the Huawei Ascend 2 M865, and then appling your mods for the SGS3, I assumed everything would work... but it didn't.
I don't understand why...

:D

Seriously though - thanks for the heads-up bro... I'll give it a go.
(wow... that really rhymed... :smokingsomb: )

If it works, I owe you a couple beers. ;)

Edit~
"DERP"!!!!!
I've used this before... boy, I'm a rocket scientist today. lol
Anywho, thanks for the kick-in-the-brain Shabby... apparently I need that. lol

HOLY CRAP!!! HOW in the Wide, Wide World of Sports DID I MISS THIS BEFORE?!

Bro, I owe you BIG TIME! That fiximacated it FINALLY.
You ARE DA MAN!

(Fixdecated... fixamated... idk... I'm just happy atm. lol)

Repairified? Repairifacated? Defunkedated?
idk... I'm just going to spell it AWESOME!

hahah we hit the same issue on the strings when we started to port mv. metropolis has teh fix in it, so when you said you had an issue i knew you werent using teh one i provided :P

After 2 days,I've decided this rom is a beast! Everything is nice and smooth and working, morphology makes it that much better. Also running lk as well. I just need to get around to dropping Samsung bloat. :D

Ok, flashed to stock .. flashed back to the newest build of Metropolis ..

I can't get my mobile Wi-Fi to work. When I was on stock, I had no problems. But once I flashed back to metropolis, it wouldn't work.

.... also, GoSMS won't send mms' .. it'll receive them.. but the native app will send them.

My GoSMS was working just fine, before I flashed back to stock and then back to metropolis

GoSMS:
before = worked perfectly fine
After = Receives MMS, Won't send though.

Messaging app = everything working

I just noticed the broken wi-fi myself... it won't connect, or even act like it wants to.

Edit~
ld's #2 does it as well... no Wi-Fi.

Wifi is fine for me. Haven't heard anybody report that issue here or in #2 thread. I think its something you're doing guys.

Can't comment on go sms.

It's just odd & annoying. It didn't do it before I flashed to the newest build.

Later on I'll just reflash it and report my results.

It's not the Wi-Fi, that works fine, I'm talking about the mobile hotspot

I use chomp SMS, I had the same problem and they fixed it (its in their changelog on the play store)

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

I posted this problem in the ATR for the MetroPOS forum .. someone recommended Chomp SMS .. it works just fine lol I knew it wasn't a Metropolis issue when my friend had the same issue with her (completely stock) s3 using go sms.

They need to address that issue immediately .. I love Go SMS.
