Shall we begin?

Got it this morning (NYC area).

After updating (in the order I discovered them):

I had to re-add some of my widgets as they were replaced by the stock Sprint tutorial widgets.

There are 2 bullets (dots or whatever you wanna call 'em) in the bottom left and right corners of the home screen. You can use those to jump to the next page instead of swiping. The number of bullets changes in each corner depending on which direction you're going. You can also long press them or the Application Tab and you'll see a preview of each page and you can select which page you want.

Now has Swype.

The Application Tab behaves differently. Can no longer swipe up to open it, just tap it and it opens. Also, it fades in and out when opened and closed.

New applications (at least on mine): Google Search (an app now, not just a widget), My Files (file browser), News & Weather, Sprint Hotspot (doesn't work without paying for it) and Task Manager.

As others have mentioned, we now have the ability to end a call using the power button. Text messaging is now black-on-white instead of reverse.

Performance issues so far. Screen seems to be extra sensitive now. Probably my imagination since this was a software update, not a firmware update. Phone actually seems more sluggish to me, not less.

Under Settings>Applications>Manage applications, there are 4 tabs to choose from: Download, Running, All, On SD Card. From here, you can also select an app to manage and "Move to SD card".

That's it so far.

Interesting nstg8r, the phone is faster for me. Also something else I have noticed, 3G is faster. The ability to move almost all apps to SD is nice as well. Not sure if battery life is better quite yet, though it seems that way so far.

Oh it it is funny there is a task manager, even though I stopped using one when I had 2.1.

The built in file manager is nice as well, I was using Astro before, and the built in one works nice.

A tip for all, going a wipe of the phone after the update helps as well, do not forget to backup your SD card before doing this, and wipe the SD card as well.

You MAY be able to also download Flash 10.x in the market too, not sure if it will be compatible but that was the purpose of froyo.

I found a flipclock widget to be a culprit constantly freezing the phone and slowing it down big time, I swapped the 2GB card for a 4gb card, and same issues. Swapped it for an 8gb card and now my phone is much more crisp and clear then it was before.

I just updated to 2.2 and I noticed when someone calls it does not speak the name when they call just a normal ringtone. I can not find the option to have it speak names when someone calls. Anyone know?

What are common apps you run?

The one that kept quitting on me was a custom battery widget I had someone build for me. I'm thinking the build I have was never updated for Froyo (the non-custom one was). I'll check with the developer.

I removed all my widgets and then re-added them. Things seem to be working better now.

As far as 3G speed is concerned, I have an Airave at home, so I was getting close to 1800kbps down, 700kbps up regularly. Outside of my home, it's garbage, so I'll have to wait to test it until I'm in a area with a decent 3G network.

Got the request to update today at 10:58 central time and Ill be updating at 5:00 after my classes are done and me and the gf watch a movie. Good stuff. :P

I took my phone in since my update gave me an error screen and now won't update. They told me that they don't have the file to manually update the transform. Lame.

7 minutes. No joke. After reading that it took some people an hour or more and to have it in wifi and plugged in, I was PISSED when I accidently hit install. I have less then half a charge and not in wifi. I pulled the battery twice trying to block the download. Didnt work.

It downloaded in like 7 minutes in a hospital and you know how bad reception can be there. Everything appears to working just fine.

Ok, it is fairly simple. Make sure to back up any photos or documents you have on your SD card first.

Now, follow these steps.

menu (home) > settings> privacy> factory data reset

It is as simple as that

So, a few days ago I had the froyo update notification on my phone, and naturally I pressed update. The update then failed. Quickly might I add. My phone was rooted then. So, after going to update Android multiple times and it is saying it is up to date, I decided to flash back to stock. After doing that I still could not get the update to show up on my phone. And here I am, waiting, hoping that soon my phone will tell me it has an update. Anyways, this is a long round about way of asking, how do I get my phone to update after it has already tried and failed?

I thought about that. My main concern if it was the same update that sprint was giving out. Because I read somewhere that that version had a few issues. Any ideas?
