Root Sharing the battery love!

Well folks, I've gone ahead and bought some batteries from Amazon. I found a deal for an 1800mA battery and wall charger for like $13. I thought WTH, I'll try it out, it's only $13.
I got the delivery yesterday. I actually got 2 1900mA batteries and a wall charger for $13. (I bought my daughter a pair of red crocks so I got super saver shipping! ;) )

The cool thing about these batteries is, they're standard sized so they fit without a bulky back cover!

I'm trying out the battery today and we'll see how well it performs. Even if it doesn't last any longer than the stock battery, I now have 3 batteries to choose from. I'll charge em all and keep a spare with me in case I go dead on a trip or when I'm in the field working. Can't beat it, not even with a stick!

I'll post up my experience so yinz can decide if you want to get em. :D

thanx for the heads up granite. thats cool that you got 2 batteries and a wall charger.

i also bought a battery from amazon. i thought that i bought a stock battery but it turns out i got a 1800mA battery to my surprise. i only paid $5 bucks for it. battery life is much better on this battery then the stock one.

No problem!

How long have you had them?

Did you notice longer life?

I just bought them after seeing our post. I wanted a bigger battery but I need the other box. So after seeing that they are stock size I figured I will give em a try for13 for 2. How is your battery life so far?

Thanks,
Charles

This is day 2, I charged this one in the wall charger. Seems to be doing ok. 6 hours with 82% left, not too shabby. I really want to give em about 4 or 5 charge cycles before I make a decision. I thought you maybe had em already, so you could tell me. Hehe :D

When I rooted my fathers EVO the other day he had some sort of case that had a battery build into it. So when the stock evo battery died you hit a switch on the case and the internal case battery charged the phone battery.

I can't remember the name of the case right now but it was on Amazon for about $40

Edit:
Believe it was powerskin

Well, I'm now at 15 hours and I've got 48% battery left. Thats with Supersonic3D and I've left my sync all on today for emails and over an hour of talk time. Not too shabby. It seems these do last a little longer than the stock battery. I was lucky to get 20 hours before.

I will let you know how mine do when I get mine on Thursday. It seems by the reviews I read the battery life gets better after a few charges and discharges. I can't wait, I get about 15 to 20 hour's on the stock battery running the r2r stormy day with stock battery. So we will see.

Thanks,
Charles

Ok I got the new batteries today. Should I use use them to discharge then Chanel them or charge the then use them?

Thanks,
Charles

Personally, I'd let it fully charge in the phone, run a battery calibration ( either through the battery calibration app on the market or by wiping battery stats) and then use it. Try to let it go down to at least 10-15% before the next charge if possible.

Ok, I havent posted in this thread in a while, thought I would give a final thought about these batteries.

I'm getting over 24 hours easy with these. I'm usually running one of the newer sense version roms, which are resource hogs,. ie: battery killers!

It took about 5 or 6 charging cycles each before they really started to give a noticeable difference. Also suprisingly, when they are charged in the phone they seem to last longer. I would have thought the opposite would hold true, the wall charger would yield longer battery life....I was wrong :)

Make sure to follow a battery calibration guide or use an app from the market to calibrate your battery stats for the new mA's. ;)

Enjoy!! :D

I'll definitely have to purchase these (Edit: Done). Thanks for the info and the newest post.

On another note I am almost done with the new office so I can get back to work on the battery status

Now Who wants to go up in my attic and move my network cable? :D
