Shipping date speculation

Ordered a 16 GB on the 15th, received an email with my tracking number around 3:45 this morning. Like JimT50 said above, it appears the wait is over for some.

I refused my original order (16gb + that awful case) after buying one from Sams Club a week earlier.

Think I'll order a 32 gb when they come out and give mine to my wife for her birthday in October. :D

Hi guys. I've been lurking on this thread, posting my status updates for a while. I think it is time that I actually asked a question of you all. I need advice for how to actually make progress with getting my N7.

Backstory: Pre-ordered 16GB with case on June 27. Got shipping notice 7/16. Called 7/20 when the tracking page still said "Info Received" and I didn't have it yet; they said higher tier shipping support would get back to me by end of day. Called 7/23 when no one called; they said they'd escalate me again, they should get back to me in 48h. Called again 7/25, they said they'd escalate me again, they should get back to me in 48h, and they'd refund my shipping (which hasn't happened on my credit card yet). It is 24h after that and my UPS tracking still says "Info Received."

Allow me to be pessimistic for a moment and assume a day from now, after the 48h window, nothing will have changed. I'm going to call them up again, but what do I say?

I've been escalated 3 times with nothing happening. I don't want a refund, I just want my freaking tablet, that I ordered before almost everyone else within an hour of the keynote ending.

Man dtemp, I would be furious at this point. Don't let them hang up until they answer. Tell them you feel like you are just being passed off to the next unsuspecting CSR. Ask to talk to a supervisor.

Should I demand they mail me another one (and say that I'll refuse delivery if a second one ever arrives)? Should I threaten to report them to my CC company and have them revoke payment? Should I refuse to get off the phone call until something else has happened besides them putting me in the higher tier support queue?

I would stay calm with the CSR, he or she probably has very little control over the situation. Explain your situation to the CSR and ask for their supervisor. When you get the supervisor on the phone, get his or her name and a direct way to get in contact with them, and ask them to personally get back to you. See what the supervisor has to say. If they know you will be calling them back directly they will get to the bottom of it and may have other tools than pushing an escalate button in the system. You are the only one I have heard of that is having this issue, I really feel for you.

No, common sense. They can't keep the 16 gb on the shelves, yet the 8 gb is available now. It's easy to slap a bigger chip on the device and bump up the price so I think the next revision will include more memory options. :D

I don't know, I read the iFixit tear down and it didn't look like much room on the board for more storage. They already had it mounted on both sides of the board.

There is a single flash package on the N7 board. But there exist bigger packages. They are for sale to OEMs and this article explains how Google could make a tidy profit on it: Why a 32GB Nexus 7 is almost inevitable | ZDNet

Personally I'm waiting for the 64GB :D

Placed my order for a 16GB on 7/18, pretty late at night. I must have got one of the last ones because when I refreshed the play store in the morning all you could do was enter your email address. Got my email that it shipped last night, and the tracker says I should be expecting it tomorrow. I tried cancelling my order a couple of times and just getting the 8GB so I would recieve it in time (going out of town soon). Really glad they weren't able to cancel my order now. Can't wait till tomorrow!!!
