Its probably at the oakland airport. will get processed tonight and sent out tomorrow.
 
Woohoo! Just got my shipping notification... picked up in Memphis a few minutes ago...

Delivery by 4:30 Thursday the 29th...

My understanding is that the stores aren't carrying enough in stock on opening day. The last time I waited in line for a VZW phone was the Storm 1. The line was at least 50 people long by the time the store opened, I was number 4.

Number 1 bought 4 phones, number 2 bough 4 phones, then the stores staff wised up and limited number 3, who wanted to buy 3 phones, to 1 phone only. I got the last phone at the store. So on opening day, the store only carried 10 phones and they were gone in 15 minutes.

That's just my experience, but I've heard from others on this board that their local VZW stores are not stockpiling these phones.

Oh, and BTW, at least your scheduled to get your phone before 4:30 PM. My phone may not be here until 7 PM, 2 hours after our office closes.

Mine said this at first, too. Now it says 29th by 7pm. (Overnight is supposed to be day of by 3pm) It better be here before 3, since I'm having it shipped to the school I work for, and it closes LONG before 7.
 
Not gonna lie, this might have been mentioned already, but I'm not gonna read back through the thread...

I talked to a CSR a little earlier this afternoon, and when she was reviewing my order, she made a comment about how she could see the phone has left their warehouse already, to which I replied "yeah, it's stuck in a warehouse in Memphis." Her response to that was that FedEx has instructions to not deliver them before the 29th.

Now, I think we all know how many different answers we've been getting to the same questions from different people at Verizon - their knowledge about the details on this phone release seem to be all over the board. BUT, I just thought I'd share this anyway, just in case she turns out to be correct and tomorrow comes and there are a lot of disappointed people out there.

My thought is I ordered it expecting delivery on the 29th, and anything before that would just be a bonus.
 
Just remember everyone. Having it shipped to your door on or before launch day beats the heck out of camping outside of a store with a picture of fruit on it all night to get your phone on launch day.

My shipment left Ontario yesterday morning... about 350 miles away. Now it's in Oakland, about 700 miles away. WTF? Did Fedex get Ontario, California mixed up with Ontario, Canada? Or are they just making sure my phone gets a good run along the west coast before it gets stuck here in Utah? It says it's still on time for delivery tomorrow by 7pm, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

And that's better than paying for overnight shipping nine days ago and not getting the package until after launch day how?

Looks like you're in the same boat. I bet yours is also being shipped ground. Good thing Verizon can make sure we get ours late.
 
Ugghhh...this is PAINFUL!!! Picked up yesterday at 6:00am in Ontario, CA, and didn't arrive in Oakland, CA until 9:49am this morning. Oakland is only a few hours from Ontario, and Sacramento (where I live) is only a couple hours from Oakland. Still showing a delivery date of tomorrow, though...so I guess I should be happy that it's still coming a day earlier than originally expected. But just watching it sit there on the tracking system without any movement is KILLING ME! lol

Congrats to all those that have already received theirs or are scheduled to receive theirs today. I can't wait!!!

Grrr... I just got my tracking number and such. It indicates 2Day Fedex, however I thought I was getting overnight... granted I used a promo code and didn't pay for it, but still... that's annoying. What's worse is that it's guaranteed by 7pm, not 3pm! That's even more annoying. I will have to redo my work schedule so that I will be in my office til 7pm.

Should I call Vzw/Fedex and b!tch so they change it? Is it too late? Am I being too childish? (The last one is very likely, I'm just really excited haha)
 
WTF, it was picked up at 11:30 this morning going from West Chester, PA to Fort Washington, PA a distance of 33 miles/ 30-45 mins in traffic and its not guaranteed until the 29th @ 7pm...

Plus its a freaking business no one will be there at 7 on thursday. Whatever, I hope its there tomorrow. I thought business address shipments were guaranteed by COB.

Yeah, I'm going to be "patient" until 10:00 am Thursday morning, when I'd be able to walk in to the VZW store and get it myself, before I start plotting against the customer service rep who will be fielding my call. If I can walk into the store to pick it up before my pre-order arrives, I think that defeats the purpose of PRE-ordering it. For y'all who say waiting at home beats waiting in line, I beg to differ... at least I can see the front of the line getting closer. I can only hope that the Fedex guy will stop by my house before he goes home.

My order had the 'free overnight' option, but looks like VZW has used FedEx 2 day service to get it here by 4/29. I'm OK with that. Its free delivery and they only promised to have it in our hands on 4/29.

I'm in the Sac Area as well. They express does all their moving at night. Probably flew out of ontario last night into oakland airport. will jump a truck tonight and hit the local facilities early am. For the guy in UT... It will probably fly out of oakland tonight and in UT tomorrow.

I'll consider it a small victory when it shows my phone is moving east... even slightly.

Logistically, though, how much sense does it make to move packages from one location to another that is twice as far away? I really can't imagine they're going to fly it from Oakland to our dinky little airport, either. Oh, well... like I said, it's not late 'til Thursday even if Fedex says it will be delivered tomorrow.

Forget about health care reform, I'll be passing around a petition for shipping reform. I want my toys NOW!!!
 
Now my 4:30 delivery time shows 7:00pm.... D'oh!

I had it shipped to my office, which closes at 5:00... If for some reason it doesn't show up by 5, I'd have to wait around for it... Can't trust FedEx to leave it outside my office building overnight; or pick it up the next day...
 
what are the chances I get mine tomorrow? It was picked up in West Chester PA this afternoon. I work in the DC area and that is within the 1 day shipping window coverage of West Chester based on FedEx's maps. It's listed as 2nd day shipping but I know others have received theirs a day early when it was also shipped via 2nd day.
