As much as I like my Bionic I am going to return it. The camera is horrible but other then that its great. I don't mind the screen, I think it looks good. The UI is great but I would like a camera that does not take 5-8 seconds to focus just to take a horrible picture.
I decided to see that HTC has to offer with the Vigor. I will most likely pass that up to get the Prime if it actually hits.
You realize that will most likely be fixed in an update? Not to mention htc is crap with battery life. I hope htc worked that out because I am looking to get the vigor but if it has battery like the tb I will pass.
It might be but I am not going to take any chances. They had so much time to get everything together, the camera should be working by now. Either way Motorola cameras always suck so I don't think they will fix it. I am not really looking at the Vigor too much but if it wows me it will be mine.
To answer the question honestly and objectively, I think you should wait. It's a great phone and I have no doubt you'd be more than satisfied with it. However, you have a phone that is adequate and do not need to update. That gives you the freedom to wait for the next best thing, at least to the point where your phone is no longer adequate. I really think that a phone purchase shouldn't happen until you know that you either need a phone or will before too long.
Look at the specs and capabilities of the Bionic. Do they completely outweigh what you're capable of on your Droid and are you in need the features that do? When you get a new phone, you're married to it for at least 20 months, so make it count.
Bought my Bionic today after a lot of soul searching. I gotta say I love the thin design of it, and it's super bright, especially outside.
I just can't get over the screen not being up to par. I don't want to return it and lose 4G by going back to my crappy other phone, but I don't want to go 2 more years with this screen, especially with Prime and Vigor coming out in the next 30 to 60 days, both HD screens. . . .:-(
I don't know what to do. I love the Bionic and hate it at the same time.
You do realize it is a phone and not a camera, the camera built into these phones is a side gig, for fun shots for emergencies, if you want a better camera there is not point in relying on a phone camera, I am a photographer and would never depend on ANY phone camera for any shot that is worth anything other than a snapshot, as to the phone it rocks.
