should I root or not

Update on my rooting! So since regaw method did not work for me I did the Unrevoked download. Got superuser permissions, downloaded titanium backup and rom manager premium. Did clockwork recovery then rebooted into recovery. Did a nandroid and then rebooted. Now my question is, where should I go from there? Just would like a little reassurance! Thanks again for all your help! :)

glad you got rooted... as far as where to from here... flash a new ROM... Fresh 2.3.3 is a good first rom... then try out a few of the more vanilla ROMs..or even the Froyo 2.2 build that is available.. the main thing is, now you can take your phone to the point that makes YOU happy with it..

After downloading first rom, I get the pop up: Rom pre-installation, do I have to back up existing rom? I should not have to that consindering I'm still running stock, right?

Congrats on finally rooting!!!

Nandroid, Nandroid, NANDROID... get yourself in a habit with any changes, or flashing of anything (not just ROM's, anything you flash)

Where to go? The sky is the limit. Try several ROM's and get a feel for which kind you like. Fresh's ROM's are close to stock with the Sprint Bloat gone, once you get your feet wet, then you can go for some OC and other ROM's that might need "work" if you will.

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Okay someone please help me. I am trying to root my phone (Sprint HTC Hero), right now I am in the begining stages of the rooting process.

I am currently in my Command Prompts, but when I enter adb push unrevoked /sdcard
it comes back with "cannot stat 'unrevoked': No such file or directory
