Root Should I Upgrade?

I am rooted and am running Apex 1.4.1, ADW EX 1.3.3 w/the Android HoneyComb theme. I have not upgraded to Ginger yet from Verizon. Most things are pretty solid although I do think the latest version of ADW caused some issues.

Just wondering if I should take the time to roll back to stock, upgrade, then upgrade to Apex 2.0 and so on. Or should I wait a little while longer to let things work themselves out w/ the new releases.

Thanks in Advance.

I would go ahead and catch up! :D

I am on GB with ApeX (RC2), and it is running smoother, faster, more stable than ever! Battery life seems excellent as always too.

Definitely much better than ApeX used to be I think, so yes, upgrade away!

Thanks for the input.

Can anyone give me a guideline of how to go about this. I have changed ROMS after rooting, but have never gone back to stock to upgrade from Verizon. I have all the related apps like Tibackup, bootstrapper etc...thanks in advance.

You'll probably want to do this..

SBF:
SBF’ing the Droid X U D G
or

Then if you want rooted GB you will have to install the 2 part zip:
Official DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.596) Release Thread - Something for everyone

Then just flash your ROM of choice!

Remember to use D2 Bootstrapper with GB, since the DX version doesn't work as well.

If you don't want rooted GB, just take the OTA, but it is currently un-rootable.

Just make sure you use Titanium Backup to backup all your apps. You have to wipe data and cache's during the Apex 2.0 install which means that you will loose all you apps and data (if you didn't already loose them during the upgrade process). If you have backed them up, then it is only a small inconvenience to get Apex 2.0. If you haven't backed up your apps, then it is a major PITA because you'll have to start from scratch in the market.

You will not regret upgrading to GB. I am still on .595 running stock theme and love it. Rock solid. Been on vacation and have not had time to play with .596 yet.
