No, I'm using HTC Sense. Stock. Every stock picture widget has a white thin frame. I just was looking for the one that was smooth and black... Like the one I've copied above...

I have found out how to get the those picture frames,all you need to do is install the nexus one gallery app then you will find them in the widget menu,click below to find out how to install that app.

garh! i'm guessing i'm using 2.1 because i don't know what froyo is.. how do i change to 2.2 or find out if i'm already using it? what the hell is the point of the SD card if you can't put things on it?.. or can i?
i would show a picture of my phone, but it's just a wallpaper of my boyfriend and i (i know eww :P) and some girly apps. so i just learn and change my phone layout every other day.

If you want to find out what version of android you are running click Menu > Settings > About phone > Software information,there you will see the Firmware version right at the top.

to check for updates just go settings>about phone>system software updates>press check now

if there is an update available, it will appear in a popup box, the update your looking for is Froyo 2.2

Froyo is the latest software from android, designed to make devices faster,sleeker and a bit better for use in general. however, only unlocked devices will be able to update to 2.2 at this moment in time. phones on networks like tmobile etc won't be available as of yet.
 
Hey everyone.

Just wanted to discuss bookmark widgets. All the ones ive tried see, to take up the whole screen, but i need one that is smaller, either half screen of one that leaves room for one row of icons below it.

Any ideas?
 
I use a widget called launch-x pro, which lets you set up a row of upto 7 icons, you can even change the size of the icons.

I just pop in my top 7 bookmarks as shortcuts there and I'm happy with it!

oh man this thread rocks, just spent 3 hours going through it, thanks everyone!!

been looking at the 'apps organizer' app and 'folder organizer' app and they seem to do the EXACT same thing, even made by the same person, what gives and what am i missing please?

and has anyone noticed that the new flashlight widget in v2.2 is not near as bright as LED LIGHT?
 
how do i get my desire to recognize icon picks? I place it into my desire hdd and it doesnt show up when deciding to chose from list of icons

That's right you don't need both. Apps organizer will organize ask your apps into folders. Folder organizer will also do that and a lot more - bookmarks, contacts, shortcuts.
 
just started using lockbot pro and am wondering what size (pixels) so the backgrounds need to be to get it covering the whole screen?

some of my photos only cover a small square or are rotated wrong :(

ended up cropping my photos at 800x480 and WHAMO, personalized bliss ;)

Finally think I've got something I'm happy with..... for now at least.
Love the whole simplistic setup that I see alot of people with, but didnt want to sacrifice the accessibility of all my applications and shortcuts, so decided to implement quickdesk to give me access to my calender/bookmarks/apps/music widget and then the sliding dock of launcher pro to give me that simplistic look whilst also allowing me to have my most used icons on the home screen.

Swipe gesture down to hide notifications bar, swipe gesture up to show it.
Added the arrow as an icon on the dock just to make it look that much cooler :)

This way I'm only using one homescreen, no swiping and no clutter on other homescreens and the quickdesk lets me access my most used widgets/bookmarks/apps from within an application or just the homescreen.

Damn, now that I think about it, I'm only going to want to customize everything more now :( Here goes another night :P
