I was curious to see how everyone used their Evo in their cars. Lets see what you got.

Here's mine.

Note, that in the cigarette lighter there is now a Kensington PowerBolt Micro that I modified to get a healthy 600+ mA when I connect my Evo to it(its able to supply up to 2.1 Amps for iPads).

Edit: Poop, I put this thread in the wrong forums -_-. I meant to put in accessories.

I just did ;)

That's a nice setup, I like the location of your mount.

I have a 95 Bronco and have had a heck of a time finding a good spot to put mine. I bought the HTC/Sprint car mount and it has the sticker for locating on the dash, but the way the dash is set up i have hard finding a good out of the way location for it.

interesting set up...what do you have the case attached to?

I never really considered attaching it to the extra pocket there like that. great idea!

Its a pretty custom set up... I just need some advice on where I should mount the phone though? Im thinking below the new head unit where my old one used to be, I just hope the tape holds.. but I am open to other alternatives. And sorry the car is so dirty, I've been so busy lately to get it shined up. :p

wrapkgb, in your case I think if you tape a box below the radio you can velcro the evo to it. That way it would have great visibility and be useable by the passenger as well as the driver.

Amazon.com: SoundGate M2 German engineered to safely secure your iPod, iPhone, Nano, Touch, Classic, Garmin, Cell Phone, Blackberry, Zune, MP3, or other portable device to your dash, or console: Electronics

I had seen that a few months ago and realized it would help me immensely. The base of the mount attaches with a sticky pad but since the extra pocket in the car is lined with felt it wouldn't have worked. I just pulled the console off and drilled a hole through the top of pocket. The mount has a hole where a torque screw fit so I just got a slightly longer screw to fit through the hole and be able to tighten it from inside the pocket.

I for the life of me can't figure out how that attaches to the phone/case lol.

thank you for posting the link though

The bracket comes with two adhesive disks that attach to phone or, in my case, the HTC Evo case so I can slide in from the top. I used a dab of gorilla glue to make sure it wouldn't fall off. The case, now with the attached disk, slides into a friction slot on the mount.

It works great. I just want to find some sort of grip or case that I can use my commuter case with.
