the alarm goes off and media volume is still seperate. any way to string these all together so they are all muted when in "silent" mode?

app solutions are fine with me.

I know there are a few widgets out there that you can shut stuf off with.

There is also the app "timeriffic" that I use. It shuts off stuff at what ever time you tell it to.

I have heard of an app called "locale' that will do the same thing but is based on your location.

Hope that helps.

FYI...In addition to Location, Locale has 4 other conditions that it works with: Battery level, Calendar(date), Contact(settings based on a particular contact, duh), and Time.

PS - Do an Android market search for "Silent" and you will find multiple apps for silencing your phone.

All widgets I tried only mute the ringer. However, I use a free app called Sound Manager. It allows you to place a shortcut to your home screen to mute all sounds similar to a widget. It also allows you to control all volume levels within the app, as well as ring modes and vibrate modes. Gives you the option to schedule your sound settings too. Very cool app!!!

One word of warning when installing the "mute all" shortcut from the app it will reload Sese Home, at least it did for me. Would be nice if it had a real widget but it works better than anything I've tried.

It allows mode profiles. So I have four profiles defined: Home, Work, Outdoor and Night. Just select one of the icons for the respective mode, and all volumes are set according to your specifications.

The app does a lot more that this, but it's ideal for setting volumes.

Use VOLUMESYNC in the Android Market . It is exactly what you're looking for! There is a free version and a donation version (for about 2 dollars).

The app flawlessly mutes your media volume when the "Silence All" option is used.
