Help Sim Card ejects on its own.

So I got a brand new Razr M almost exactly one month ago today. Love the phone ... in general.

At 2 weeks into owning it the Sim Card began ejecting all on its own. Just randomly. Insert it until it clicks in locked like it should, close the cover, and a short time later the cover would be bulging out, open the cover and the sim card would be ejected. Repeat ... and so on and so on. So a trip into my Verizon store. They figured something with the Sim card in how the cards cut outs or whatever it is that lets the phone lock it in must be the problem. Of course according to the fine folks at the store they have "never seen this issue before", which I get every time I have a hardware issue regardless of the type of cell phone. So a new sim card is installed. Fast forward two weeks to today. Just all of the sudden today, you guessed it, it ejected on its own. So I clicked it back in. An hour later ... ejected. Repeat ... 30 minutes later ... ejected. So, with the side cover open, I click it in and before I can close the cover ... ejected. Repeat ... repeat ... repeat ... Now I cannot get the sim card to stay in at all.

I know I know ... trip to Verizon again. Probably a hardware issue and not a sim card issue.:(

Anyone ever have this issue before?

Have not seen this problem reported. I'd have them replace the phone. However I do remember it was a bugger to get the card in and stay in when I first did it. Once seated, it has stayed.

I took the phone back today to my Verizon store. They were in disbelief as the card immediately popped out every time. At first they wanted to replace it with a referb phone. I refused to accept that as a solution. It took some talking but the manager finally agreed to give me a brand new phone.

So far so good with the new unit.

Not only is the SIM problem fixed but there are other fixes that I am not noticing that I really never knew I had problems with from the start.

1) My power button never had a positive click feel to it. It was just push it and you may or may not get a reaction from the phone. My new one has a positive click feeling when you depress it. I compared that to my wife's Razr M and her's has the same positive click feel to it.

2) My phone actually turns on now. There were times that I would have to really press the power button hard and hold it to get the phone to even power on. That doesn't seem to be the case with the new one. Push, hold, and powers up.

3) Battery consumption. I was burning through battery, often having to recharge by mid-afternoon. Yesterday I re-loaded all of my apps and set the phone up nearly the same as my old one. So far today at noon on my new phone I am at 85% power and I have sent multiple text messages and taken several phone calls this morning. On my old unit with that same activity, I'd have been at under 50% easily.

Things are definitely looking up with this new unit. :D

I'm glad you followed up with the post here. Many times people post problems, then never tell you what fixed their situation. Thanks
