Help sim lock (pin number)

Hi everyone!
I have had my s4 for a week now and I absolutely love it! I upgraded from an s2. My only issue is setting up a pin number. When I try to set one up it tells me to enter the sim lock number, as if there is already a pin set up. I cant find anything in the manual about a default number. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

if your with o2 (possibly other networks) i found if you enter the sim lock incorrect too many times it askes for a puk code, head onto the o2 website and search puk lock code, it then asks you to enter the phone number then just displays the puk code, no other checks on who you are or anything like that, this then allows you to use the sim, a little stupid if you ask me an negates any reason for having a simlock if all you need to do is go to the website put the phone no in and it gives you the unlock code.
