Help Since trying to flash myn's swype zip, sdcard programs problematic

Before rsl 5 came out which includes swype, I tried to flash myn's swype zip file on his repo.

It failed, but since then, my programs installed on sdcard are problematic.

At first, they were not even accessible till I plugged in USB and choose mount as disk drive.

I took out SD card and since then, when I turn on phone, the programs' icons dont work(say program link no longer works) until a bit of time after the htc evo is finished booting.

I even let evo format sd card after copying files off, then copied them back on.

I'm using RSL 5 now, and still have the same problem.

What to do? Thanks.

 
Sd card is the last item in boot now, so yes....items on sd card will not show until the phone finishes the boot process.

The behaviour you mention when plugging in via usb is opposite what it should be. When plugged in to a computer as usb or hard drive, the sd card unmounts from the phone and is accessible from the pc. It has always done this but is more noticeable now with apps2sd. Previously music and custom ringtones would have been the only items unnaccessible during those connections.

Ensure your default connection is set to charge only and make sure no apps like doubletwist/ sync apps are automatically putting phone into usb/disk drive mode
 
Plugging the phone in via usb, then having it work after sounds completely coincidental (i.e. you didn't give it enough time to load, then when you unplugged it, it remounted the sdcard, which caused all your apps on the sdcard to show up). Mr. Ed is right, though, that apps on the sdcard will take some time to load. Mine sometimes take up to a minute after I've booted up to show up. There's nothing wrong, you just need to patience :).

As for the themed swype zip, that is entirely coincidental and could not have caused any problems. For one thing, it's a metamorph script. You need to apply it with metamorph, not flash it from recovery. It has no recovery update scripts, and will just fail, like you saw. No harm to the system, though. It wasn't even swype, anyway. It's a theme for swype. You would have need to have the beta already installed for it to do anything. Now that RLS5 has swype, it doesn't matter.
