i thinking of getting a g1 actually lol. just gonna buy one of clist then buy an extended battery...if i can ever sell this damn brick
i don't wanna spend $400 on a new phone. i don't want to get another contract. right now im on the even more plusWhy in the hell would you do that when the MT3GS is coming out? the G1 is wayy too outdated soon G1 will become absolutely obsolete. Its more practical to wait a month or 2 when MT3GS floods clist not to mention any new HTC phone will be getting 2.2 froyo. G1 most likely won't even see Froyo or anything after words.

Could anyone explain why upgrading is a better option and why everyone is doing it instead?
I have a Family Plan and their EM+ Family with the options I had was actually more by about $10-12/month. The EM+ plans they came up with were really focused to get new single line users. I crunched the numbers a lot before deciding to stay with what I had plan wise.
. The family plan way comes to $140 a month with limited minutes right?Am I the only one considering jumping to Sprint for the Evo 4g? It seems like the mytouch slide really isn't worth me adding 20$ more a month to my bill and a 2 year contract. The evo seems worth it.
Would you guys take the nexus one over the mytouch slide?
I don't see anything on the gsm market that works with tmo stupid 1700 network that i would consider. There are some nice ones overseas, but again we would be stuck on edge. There are only a handful of androids that run on 1700: g1, mytouch, behold2, cliq, nexus, cliqxt, and whatever low end android that will land on tmo. I forgot the galaxy i7500 but that phone unfortunately is doomed to 1.6 too .
After much thought, i am going to go with a regular phone [sony ericsson c905] until some good/cheap second hand androids hit the market. Like many of you, I can't see locking myself into a 2 yr contract for any phone.
If sprint and verizon has gsm then they could work too.
The Evo 4g is great specwise but think about the crappy service and plans that you will get locked into.
@ 2FR35H:
When i referred to 1700 tmo band, I specifically meant the tmo 3g -- sorry for the confusion. Its not worth using a netphone on edge --- way too slow and its easy to miss calls while surfing or checking email updates etc because the bandwidth limitations. The most feature-rich phone for tmo is the nexus -- but I already used it and didn't like it because of its bulkiness. And thats it -- everything else available for android is a 2007 technology unit with android slapped on top.
Remember all the talk of that HTC Bravo/Passion/Desire (or whatever other iteration) etc that was supposed to drop on Tmo in April? Where is it? That would be my next best guess at a replacement. It was supposed to trump the N1. Surely the MT3G cannot be that phone. There was no slide mentioned in the specs.
..not a fan of slides...reminds me of my son's former phone the Sidekick. Plus, I am Swype happy now. I *love* that keyboard!!!
Having gotten so burned on the Behold II, no way I'm even *looking" at the Galaxy...none!
