Hi i noticed the skyfire is version 4.0 now it charges to use the tool bar to play video when it was free on 3.X can some one dump the apk of it so i can downgrade it back to 3.X

If you have previously installed Skyfire and update using the Market, you're grandfathered into free video. Anyone installing Skyfire 4.0.0 for the first time will get a 3 day trial then have to pay for video. I was grandfathered :).

I was grandfathered as well. I don't remember what version I first downloaded, but when mine updated I got a pop up stating since I'm a previous user I well have free video a long as it remains on my device.

well what happened was that i installed a custom rom on my phone and all my apps erased and reinstalled skyfire to my amazement it was charging. owell i got skyfire back up on 3.X and now i get grandfathered

I installed this via Easy Installer app, but Market doesn't recognize it as an installed app (same for other apk's I've installed thru Easy Installer). I installed Skyfire 4.0 over it anyways via Market, and I wasn't grandfathered.

From those who have installed Skyfire 3 from an apk to get grandfathered, any tips?

Same situation here. I wiped it for a custom rom without doing a backup of Skyfire first.

Since it looks like I won't be grandfathered in either I just have to know, is 4.0 that big of an improvement?

Someone can try installing Skyfire 3.x and using Titanium Backup to "Attach to Market". Then updating to see if they get grandfathered.
