I doubt the apk will give you a workable sling player. From what I've heard the beta is pretty locked down and you'll need a registered beta account to login.

I see. well it was eating at me this whole time. I wanna go to the park and watch the WC while im sitting under a tree lol. Would be awesome. The possibilities are endless. Congrats on the new owners on here too, great investment. If Slingplayer works like it does on my laptop it will make our DInc closer to becoming an ultimate phone.

I can't decide if I want to keep my DirecTV and buy the Solo HD....or....switch to Dish Network and get their DVR that has Slingbox built in.

For those who have an a Slingbox AV (older model)...PLEASE advise IF the final version of Android SlingPlayer is compatible or not? Thank you in advance!

That would be great because there are a couple AV's for sale on craigslist in my area. Not interested in dropping the cash on the Solo right now. However, according to the PR, it's calling out the Solo, Pro, and Pro HD as compatible. Not sure if they're implying the older stuff isn't compatible, or if they're just quoting the latest line-up. I'm interested in hearing if an AV owner gets this to work.

YAY!

I still think $30 is expensive but with Hava looking like a dead company walking Sling is the only game in town.

And apparently you can transfer your license to a new device, but I am not sure how that will work if the market is the only place to get it.

Either way it is another win for Android!

Now....how about an MLB.tv app?

It's out now on the market guys! For those with AVs, it says basically it may or may not work, but is not officially supported. I will try to have my buddy try with his. Really, it's no loss to give it a shot since the market has the 24hour return period... :)

Omg its here!!!!!

Ok so I got it and I noticed one thing already. The app actually runs better on my DInc than on my laptop. It loads faster, and brings up menus faster. If you own a Slingbox this is the best App on the market for you hands down. My DInc now does every thing I want on a handheld device.

Looks like there is an "upgrade program" if you have an older slingbox. Details on slingmedia.com

So far so good! Slingbox AV with my Inc... audio seems a bit choppy but the picture is great. Going to see if tweaking fixes the audio issue. To answer the questions about whether it works with the AV... yes it does. Not guaranteeing quality yet though.

Works pretty darn good. Need better 3g signal as it keeps pausing but it is crystal clear on the slingbox pro hd

can someone explain slingbox. if i purchase this can i watch anything on my Dinc including baseball games.(The Mets). anything i can watch at home??

Thank God! I, too, have a Slingbox AV and didn't feel like dropping more cash at the moment to upgrade since I'm STILL waiting on my DInc! Thanks, Answerman -- I appreciate the info!

Yes. With the SlingBox and the Sling software on your phone you can control and watch whatever is on your home television on your phone.

Although the mobile version is 29.99 the software is free for the PC, so you can also watch anywhere using your laptop or PC.

Slingbox.com - SlingPlayer Mobile for Android

1. Connect slingbox to either your cable or sat box, via component, composite, s-video (or HDMI if you buy PRO-HD...not necessary for 1080i)

2. Connect slingbox to home router via ethernet

3. watch any content (all subscribed channels, DVR, PPV, whatever) on cell phone or PC via the sling app, or web browser, as if you were watching TV in your home.

Alternatively, if you have DishNetwork, there is a STB which has sling built-in (VIP922). The sling Solo box will work in most situations, and will support HD output on PC.

Is anyone able to configure the connection settings (i.e. disable slingstream), as far as frame rate, bandwidth, etc? Someone posted that everything is automatically pre-configured within the app.
