Root Slow 4G wifi tether on Evo V

nebody00

Lurker
So I rooted the Evo V this weekend and installed Android wifi tether:

wifi_tether_v3_2-beta2.apk - android-wifi-tether - WiFi Tether for Root Users 3.2-beta2 *** BETA *** - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting

I noticed that it was much slower browsing on a computer than on the phone. I ran speed tests and got 4G speeds of around 5Mbps/.5Mbps on the phone while on the wifi tethered computer I got .8Mbps/.3Mbps. Settings on the Android Wifi tethering are as follows: 'Generic ICS profile (wlan0)', and checked MSS clamping and routefix.

Are there any additional steps to speed up the wifi tethered connection?

edit: Whoops, I thought I posted in the All Things Root forum. Is there a way to move this thread to that sub forum?

Sorry I don't have a Evo V on hand to check but isn't that hack for HTC EVO 3D (sprint) phones who were flashed to Virgin mobile rom (prolly due to the HTC EVO V having android 4.0/sense 3.6).
