Help Slow dialer

Well-Known Member
I have galaxo 1.6.3.1

after playing around with the launcher (replaced AdvancedLauncher with Helix for donut) i now experience some troubles with the dialer - its extremely slow:
when i press the dial button i takes about 5 seconds to load. if i click the Contacts tab it takes around 3-5 seconds.

I tried clearing the dial application's data (thus removing all my contacts and my call log), but its still slow.

Anyone got any idea why this is happening?

Offcourse there's always the solution of reapplying update.zip:) but i want to avoid it

Thanks!

I have replaced with helix aswell but i do not suffer this problem
when you say playing about what do you mean and what have you done?
have you simply just installed HelixlauncherDONUT or have you installed it, made it default, removed advanced launcher from system/app?

Installed it, forgot to make it default, removed advanced launcher from system/app, and copied helix to system/app ass Launcher.apk

I guess i did some things wrong? :)

thats an interesting way of installing it, didnt think of doing it like that but i have it set how i want it now so im not changing it.
i installed helix, set it to defaut then i removed advanced launcher.
i think if you install it as you have (launcher core replacement) i think that galaxo will put it in memory.

however your method might actually be a good one and something else is wrong

EDIT, installed it as a full replacement
it works just the same so i would imagine there is something else going here

hehe dont always go on what i say, its personal preference.
i did like AWDlauncher but it was a little heavy on features and too fancy. i wanted something more simple and helix fits that for me

remember to make a nandroid backup incase you want to revert back
