Help Slow Response From Google Voice Search

Recently, Google Voice Search on my Verizon GNEX running the latest AOKP rom has been very slow responding to queries. In the past, asking a simple question such as "how do I get to there from here" got a quick answer. Now it takes at least 10 seconds to produce the answer. I know that it's not having trouble with understanding me because it instantly displays the exact words I'm speaking. My phone is performing well in most other apps such as maps and browser. Anybody have the same problem or any ideas how to speed it up?

I am having this exact problem, too. I thought it was just me. I haven't found any way to fix this. Google Now searches are taking waaaaay longer than they used to. Even simple queries like "wake me up at 6 am" take 10-15 seconds to come back with something. They used to come back pretty instantly.

Same here. Glad it's not just myself having this problem. Can't quite figure it out...seems to happen regardless of signal strength and battery life.

I'd love to know a solution to this. It's a very useful tool to have but aggravating when this slow. I've wiped and flashed two different roms and it's still slow.

Someone else had mentioned this in another thread somewhere, so it's worth tossing out here just to see if it helps. Try setting the language in your Google Voice typing options, to English, instead of Automatic. They had said it helped their responsiveness, so I guess it's worth a shot?

On my HTC One, I'm having a slightly different problem. Once I launch google voice search or google now voice search, it's taking quite a while (10-20 seconds) before the microphone flashes and the app is listening for a voice search command. Kind of defeats the purpose of voice search if you have to sit there waiting for the app to "initialize". Anyone else having this problem?

I'm not having any issues on Stock rooted. Response time is quick... if I ask how to get somewhere I have directions in about 12 seconds.

I have an HTC One as well. Exact same problem. Mine started a few weeks ago. I haven't been able to find the cause or a solution. Any luck on your end? Thanks

Going into the Application Manager via the main > settings menu, then to "All" then tapping Google Search and clearing cache, then rebooting the device helps a lot.

I've never seen more than about 3 seconds of delay on my Note 2 or Tab 7, but clearing caches here and there then rebooting gets it back to instant.

Also, sometimes Google search services/servers "out there" get clogged up with traffic, I think. Thus the rashes of many complaints from time to time.
