Help SMS Error

kishin

Newbie
I received my Bolt yesterday afternoon to replace my Droid 1. I let it charge up before activating it. Once activated and all, everything going good. Sending out and receiving calls, receiving text messages. But when I attempt to send out a text or an simple reply. The user who is on the receiving end getting my SMS it shows the message is from a crazy 16 digit number. Every single message I send it tells the other party that it's a 16 digit number.. I called support late last night in regards to it. I have told them the 16 digit number that appears to others when I send them an SMS. Support said that it's some network syncing issue because Tbolt's use a 4G Sim chip, in which other phones on verizon network do not use the chip. So being this is my only line available and the required steps to fix this problem I need a 2nd line to talk to support while doing some powering/syncing steps as they are doing whatever on their end. I'm going to VZW store who has at tech in an hour or so. Hopefully this issue will be resolved in a quick fashion.

Try rebooting the phone. I had the same problem that day I got the phone and a simple reboot solved it. Hope it works for you too.

I got a SMS error when sending a text earlier this morning. It gave me these codes:

Cause Code: 65535
Error Code: 3

anyone know what this is? It only happened once, and now I'm sending texts just fine.

I've been having problems sending texts all morning. In handcent I will get an hourglass that keeps spinning. Airplane mode and reboot worked temporarily, but I'm wondering if I should stop by vzw on the way home? Anyone else with this problem?

There's another thread on this somewhere, but the quick resolve to this is to reboot your phone and everything should go back to normal. Happened to me yesterday. GL!
