I'm using Handcent on my Evo for SMS/MMS. I'm finding the notification process is becoming a bit cumbersome. In order to get the LED to flash with an incoming message (which is a must for me), the choice "Display message notifications in status bar" must be selected. What winds up happening is that every time a get a message, I must slide the status bar down to click on the message which brings me to the message in the Handcent app. The hassle is that for every message I get, I have to clear it in Two places for the LED to clear. I have to clear it from the status bar and then acknowledge it in Handcent. If for example, my friend replies back to me with a simple "bye" or "K", I can view the entire message right there in the status bar. It's frustrating to have to then open up Handcent to acknowledge the same message all over again in the app to get the notification LED to stop blinking. What's the best way to have notifications set up for ease of use and how are most people setting up your SMS/MMS notifications?

this one is a no win...for each of the many of us that wish it were not there...there are just as many that want it there.
for your others I honestly do not have an answer. I don't use the led notifications
