Help Sms problems - please help

I have the galaxy s2, and am wondering If anyone could help.

So I've got a weird problem with sms's. It's so far only with one of my contacts, but am worried that it might spread to more.

When he sends me a text, I can read the text, but it doesn't go into my inbox. Not really at any rate.

With the stock sms program, it show's me the first line, and when I open the message all I get is Blank sms template, with out even the senders phone number. When the sms come's in, if I hit reply it takes me to the blank sms template.

I however don't use the stock sms program. I use pansi sms. In pansi sms you have tier option of either conversation bubble view or you can have the traditional view.

In the conversation view the message isn't there at all, but in the traditional view the message is there and look's and behave's in a normal way.

I did a factory reset on my phone, and the problem went away. And now it's back again. Have I been an idiot and changed some settings? Just before this went down I got an error message (com.android.phone Has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again), and my phone put it self Into flight mode.

So yeah, what do?

Can you check the conversation settings for that person. I think if you go into the conversation and then press the menu button and check the settings to make sure the text and bubble colour are correct and not the same as your background colour.

Its a bit of a guess but that's all I can think it is. If not have you tried installing and installing?

In conversation mode, using pansi, his sms doesn't show at all. There is no first line. Nothing. In stock sms the first line is there, but opening it take's me to the create message screen. Normally, if I hit reply at least the recipients contact details would be at the top, but this is completely blank. The ONLY warty to read an sms from this contract is with pansi in traditional view.

Uninstalling and re-installing made no difference.

(I've tried using three stock sms, go sms and pansi, and have had similar issues with all three)

When he sms'd me earlier today it worked fine. And now it's not. Last time when I did the factory reset it was the same contact giving me troubles.

So it's now spread to other contacts. I Don't want yo do a factory reset again until I figure this out. Does samsung have a galaxy support section that I could mail? I have no ideas as to how to proceed from here.

com.android.phone is your dialer so try going to settings, applications, manage applications, all tab at the top and then dialer and clear data. While your there you might as well also clear data for pansi sms. Can't guarantee it will work but worth a shot.

Thanks for that shotgun. Still no joy. :-(

Just to be safe I've cleared both pansi and the stock system. Still no joy.

At the mall the other day I saw a samsung store. Are they similar to the apple stores? Can I go down there and get tech help? They do sell lap tops and the like, but I didn't check for phones?

They're probably nothing like apple geniuses, samsung will know what they are talking about :D
Seriously though I've never been in a samsung store so I don't really know, but its definitely worth a try.

So it's getting more weird. Now, whenever I sms either of the two contacts that are more giving me trouble, I get the (com.android.phone Has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again) error. The sms still gets sent off and delivers, but I get the error report each time...

The problem has been fixed! The guys from pansi sms mailed me back. There was a bug in my message data base. So all I had to do was back up my messages, delete them all, and then restore them. Now every thing is fine again. :-)
