Root SMS Termination Denied

Same here in jacksonville FL just started getting errors sending texts around 8:45 pm EST . I think we might be looking at another text outage

"SMS Termination Denied"

Apparently Im recieving texts from friends as well as picture messages but I cant send anything outbound
 
Started getting this same message here in Charleston, South Carolina at 8:46 PM. Obviously seems to be a texting outage across the southeast. Has anyone else tried calling 611? I just got the fast beeps when I tried to do so to see what was up.
 
Hmm... could you try sending one through the Sprint web site? That would possibly work, or at least troubleshoot a bit.
 
Same issue here. I'm in North Carolina. It started around 8pm something. Started working for maybe 20 minutes, and now it's 10pm and it's happening again. Can't send anything out. I keep getting SMS Termination Denied, hit Details, and it's Cause Code: 98, Error Class: 2.

This is highly annoying.
 
Has anyone tried the online texting?

At least email or call sprint and report the problem, though I'm sure someone else has done so already. If your kind, you might get some sort of discount (just guessing, sprint has always been pretty good to us).

Issue is exactly the same here. Montgomery, AL
 
Here's a post from that thread...

I did the online chat for this error message when trying to send a text after getting my phone just a few hours ago, and this is what the chat person told me to do, so the next person doesnt have to go through it.

Eliena R: Press Menu, then tap Settings.
Eliena R: In Settings, flick Up and tap System updates.
Eliena R: Tap Update profile.
Eliena R: You will see Device Configuration - The network is preparing your service. Please wait.
Eliena R: Do not interrupt this process.

Me: ok update complete

Eliena R: That's great.
Eliena R: Now , Tap OK to return to Home screen.
Eliena R: Please try to send message.

Texts work fine now. Thanks!
