Album covers do great for recognition, but I still use list view every chance I get just because it's so much faster... To each their own tho...

As for all the people that say Android has bad music management though, did you guys actually use your iPods / iPhones? I still have artists sorting all wrong, compliations got a bit better but it's still a mess... It really depends on how you tag your digital music... I find the iPod times worst than Mixzing on the EVO... Mixzing still shows artist as A and B, but at least they handle the same dir as the same album for crying out loud...

My computer and old school winamp had better sorting of music LOL...

Nothing slow about my ipods coverflow I always use it
 
I won't use my phone to replace my ipod. I have a 30g video in my car and my old iphone 3g that i use. My phone doesn't have any songs on their. Just the movie "Kick Ass".
 
So if you guys had to pick a song out of the 3000ish songs on a typical iPod using cover flow, how fast do you think you can find it compared to the scroll wheel on my classic?

Dare to make a wager coverflow will be slower?

Are you serious? Who the hell searches for ONE song using coverflow? You use the built in search function on the iPod. Don't be daft.

The argument that it was "slow" as in speed-wise.
 
Can you tell me where does it say specifically so far we're talking about purely speed as in FPS performance wise?

Regardless, coverflow does NOTHING for an audio player... Coverflow on any non SSD device is slow speedwise too, but as an interface it's taking like 9 steps back... How many of you use coverflow on itunes? Seriously?
 
Both my SSR & Dakota R/T have iPod integration, and are controlled on screen, so until there is a way to use the HDMI out to a composite in I will be sticking with iPods, at least for in-car use.

That being said, I had a Samsung Captivate for 2 weeks before switching to the EVO. The ONLY nice thing about that phone was the fact that it displayed video right out of the A/V jack on the top. I could use navigation (when it would actually get a lock), listen to Pandora, and get the map display and voice prompts right over the system. That was pretty cool, and a feature I would love on the EVO.

Actually with coverflow you can tap/double tap the cover and it will flip over, displaying lyrics if you were so inclined to enable that. That was a great feature as well.

I know about the double tap feature, it is still way slow to do what you wanted LOL...

BTW, the quote you posted indicates I was talking about searching for a song if I'm not mistaken? No where does it say herky jerky motion / FPS lag... Either way, agree to disagree...

Bottom line, I don't see the need to keep both devices... If the EVO skipped in every song I played then no brainer, but that's far from the case...

More times than I don't...
 
I was keeping my ipod touch around using a harman kardan interface in my car, but last night I plugged my ipod touch into itunes and it told me I had an update available, when I updated something went wrong and it had to 'restore' my ipod. Lost all of my music. I'm totally hacked and that has made my decision for me, evo all the way. I do however love playing bejeweled II on my itouch and it's not available on android :(
 
That is an efficient way to navigate for me because more often than not I want to listen to an album, not silly top ten singles. Again, if I wanted to listen to a single, I use the search function.

It's pretty simple, really.
 
I will stay out of the coverflow debate, I still and will use my 32gig ipod touch for music and most media..because I want to.
 
The battery life on my iPod Classic blows away the Evo -- I have to keep my Evo plugged into the lighter adapter, and since the charger port is on the bottom and the audio jack is on the top, it's impossible to put the Evo anywhere except the passenger seat. For just driving to the store, I can do without the power adapter, but out of town trips or all day excursions, this comes into play. I considered dumping my Classic once 32GB cards become reasonable, but I've changed my mind on that one.

Not to mention the boombox that I use in the kitchen is made for the iPod, and I love that thing.
 
I still use my 32gb touch for my 6 hour plane rides to and from school for movies and stuff, In the car for music, and when i work out. Only thing i would do would be sell the 32gb and get an 8gb maybe.
 
Mine was replaced a llooonnnnggg time ago, even with WinMo. I just preferred having one device and I have an arm band for when I run so now I have my tunes and my phone with me at all times. Im by no means an audiophile. Most of its just varying types of noise to keep my mind from sticking to any specific thing when running/working/studying etc. Heck for running I started using the S9 bluetooth stereo headset because cables annoyed me.

My girlfriend just switched for the same reasons I did. Its just nice and handy only having the one device.

For me I use the universal GPS mount from sprint and have power going out the right and my audio line in goin from the left. I have a CTS so I don't know where everything is placed on others, but I couldn't agree more on the power situation.

Or If I just use my ipod, I just set it in the center console
 
I've thought about getting a GPS mount for the Evo since it's now my GPS since my TomTom died, but as many times as my TomTom took a dive from my windshield, I'm just scared the Evo will do the same.

Anyone using the weighted-base GPS holder instead of the windshield mount? That seems like it may be a better solution for me, but I'm skeptical.

I could not agree with you more.
I have spent countless hours looking for a way to effectively manage my music on the Evo.
Doubletwist is a bad joke that keeps getting repeated everywhere like Fishsticks...you like to put them in your mouth..

i'm one of those people that have an upgraded sound system. the ipod connects to my alpine hu via cable. i have no desire to use my evo as a portable music device in my truck. i'd have to either get a fm transmitter or blue tooth adapter. i'll pass on both.
 
Can't ditch the iPod unless the Evo gets an FM transmitter for my car AND shrinks about 75% so I don't feel like I'm lugging a trailer when I go running. Till then, I'm still rocking out with my Nano 5th gen.
