You don't even need the long weekend just a few hours if you haven't used ADB before. I rooted last Saturday, read the instructions and downloaded the files, you tube for extra security in my mind and boom root was easy.

Yep you rooted and romed and are on GB but it is not the OTA, maybe a screenshot that hasn't been altered would be better if you are trying to convince people you got the OTA.

fwiw, my wife called VZW, and the rep said there should be an update out and that she just wasn't seeing it (uh, yeah, right...)

anyway, the rep did some checking, told her it wasn't out yet and that it would be in a few weeks

I imagine that the above + $1.25 would get you a 20 oz. Coke, but just passing along that VZW doesn't seem to have a clue about it (like we didn't know that)
