So what do we know about the Galaxy S5?

So what do we know so far besides the fact that it's allegedly launching in April? I've seen some rumors on google, but nothing consistent.
 
Well I don't think that's actually confirmed but that seems about right given it was around the time when the S4 came out.
 
I read somewhere it could even be as early as March. I can't remember where that was but that would be cool :)
 
March or April is right around the corner. Surely some leaks will be coming out soon. I did read a rumor the other day that there may be two diff builds. One of a Premium All Aluminum and another of the Plastic variety.

Most rumors have said March or April for a launch date, although I did see one that claimed the Galaxy S5 would be released sometime in February.

I'd prefer a faster processor and a slightly smaller screen. There are also a lot more accessories available for the gs4 so I think the same will be true for gs5.

Honestly, I just prefer the newest thing out. I used to be a Motorola fan but imo they downgraded in the newest Droid incarnations so I switched to Samsung. I'd kind of like to try another Samsung model. There's certainly nothing wrong with my Note but some one handed operations are awkward (like moving to inbox in Touchdown email app)
 
Well, I am pretty anxious to get my grubby paws on a S5... I gave my S4 to a girl I know, who had a Samsung Seek that was basically dying. I am now on my spare, an HTC One. I sure miss the micro card slot. And the Camera on the One is very poor.
My only concern is how long it took Otter Box to come out with a waterproof case, not a big deal, but I do spend a lot of time on the water, so it would be sweet if it came sooner than later.
 
I think this is going to be my next phone, assuming Samsung doesn't mess it up. I was going to go with the Nexus 5, but I can't leave Verizon.

I'm still on my Galaxy Nexus, which is still sufficient. This is the longest I've used a phone before upgrading.

Well, that is for a primary phone. I still use my Droid Incredible as an MP3 player, and it's still working great.

I was thinking the same thing.
paying full price for my devices makes me look in askance at this S5.
Dont see any game changer tech in it that interests me at all.
slightly bigger camera? finger print button?
If you dont have an S4 or Note 3... I can see upgrading...if you have a note 3 or S4... whats the draw?

Samsung- I'm sick of cheap plastic phones.
I like the tech- but I'm utterly sick of cheap plastic... find a way of keeping microsd (love my exfat 64gb microsd cards) and replaceable battery....won't have a phone without those...
In fact if HTC figures out a way to get its flagship phones back to those two features...I'm jumping ship... speakers on the front make so much more sense.
 
That's your opinion and is valid. I have my own phone store and I like Samsung and their plastic + I never had a problem with my S2 or the S4:)
