So ... , who wants some Jellybeans? ...

jb-new-logo.png

These are totally built from source code. This is JB so a lot of stuff is not working yet. This is just to give you guys a taste of Jellybean. :D

I will eventually get a thread for all of these but for now just wanted to get these out to willing testers and enthusiasts. Expect differences between all of them as all are different, and have different source code.

THESE ARE ALPHA RELEASES EXPECT THINGS NOT TO WORK!

INSTALLATION:
If you have never flashed a ROM before, follow these instructions.

If you are on a rooted ROM, it would make it easier to transition, if you backup all of the apks in data/app with a root explorer. Then you don't have to download them and you can just install them from any file manager.

For those that have CWM or TWRP Recovery already installed follow these steps

1. Backup
2. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
3. Flash Rom
4. Flash Symlinked Gapps for JB
5. Reboot

6. Enjoy

Not working:
3G
GPS?
HDMI
Camera will NOT preview but will take pics
Video does not record or play
to be continued...

First boot may get stuck, it is the graphics driver, I just use adb reboot and it works fine, you should be able to pull battery and should boot fine after that.

PA CM JB:

General info:
To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks.

This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode.
This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually.
Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course.
Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on.
This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.

Let me know what's not working and what is.

And, let me know what you think.

So, I was testing PAC on my good phone to see if I could make some tweaks to get 3G working and got a nice surprise. The driver CD now loads when you plug the phone in to a windows machine. I know, I know, nobody cares, they just want 3G. But that was one of my goals while messing around in the system.

Ah, yes, but I tried to get that to work on one of my builds. One Idea I had was remaking the "CD" and customizing it. Or making it something I could use. Maybe a UBD4Win.

Well, the iso image is stored in the hidden partition, dunno if there is room for UBD4Win. I had to edit the init.triumph.rc, and a bunch of files in /system/core/init, the hidden partitions are mounted now also. Check out the MT-ParanoidAndroid repo, in device files and cm_system_core in the jellybean branches.

Bsydz,

Like usual sir, you are a beast!!! I still have a 3G working VM phone. While no other ROM's work with 3g besides the Froyo ROM's it may be interesting to see if I could help you with the project. I have learned a ton now working on 3 different phones for VM.

Edit: I will check out your sources :) :)

Testing out PAC man now.LOVE the boot animation so freaking sweet. The ROM is a little laggy but still smooth with texting.I'm testing Skype.I can make a video call but it doesn't show but a black screen to the people I'm video chatting with. Also I can't pull up ANYTHING on alogcat.Idk why but when I use it it says reading logs please wait but nothing pops up.Also why is there SuperSU and Superuser both on here?I thought you only need 1.I will post updates on here in edits.

EDIT:Camera has no preview but takes a picture but after taking 1 picture I get a can't not connect to camera error message.
EDIT2:So seeing that alogcat won't work at all I can't get a read on why there is no preview for the camera but I do know however that the fact that there is no camera preview is why no one can see me on Skype. This is my theory....When there was a working preview for camera in the CM9 build back in Jan. Skype would work with video calls.I believe that Skype uses the camera's preview to stream video during a video call.Tho I can't confirm this for sure I feel like I'm 90% correct on it.I feel if there is a fix on the preview then Skype will be working flawlessly again.I do want to know why alogcat won't pull up anything at all.I've done a couple restarts on my phone but it still won't pull up a log.Hope all this info is helpful. And btw headphones now work which was an issue in the first JB build by BSydz.Anyways GREAT WORK man! When I come back up to MI I'll have to meet up wit you to give you some premium Starbucks coffee lol.
EDIT3:Video playback works on MX Player app using S/W decoder.
EDIT4:Getting alot of random freezes/black screen where I have to do a battery pull.It only happens if I let the phone stay in sleep mode that I'm getting this. When I try to hit the power button to get the screen to come up I get nothing just black screen.Going to try out the new PA JB next.

Bsydz is the man. Only thing we need now is for someone to update the CWM recovery for the Triumph.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue but I have tested both the PAC Man ROM and PA CM JB ROM and for some reason with both if I idle the phone too long I can't get the screen to come back up and I have to do a battery pull.Is it my phone or has anyone else ran into this.

I've been testing CM-10. The apps I use all work with the exception of GPS, Camera, and Facebook. runs smooth. Will try Pac Man.

Yes I have had this issue also with CM-10. I thought it was hardware. Glad you posted.

It's called SOD Sleep Of Death, it is a kernel issue. It is more than likely the wifi and the kernel acting up.

This is the deal, when wifi is on and it goes to sleep, the phone gets stuck in sleep.

If you have the phone plugged in it never enters deep sleep so it never gets stuck.

If wifi is disabled there will be no SOD.

At least this is from my experience.

Couldn't you add in TickerGuy's wakelock?

Awesome news. Great news, I will be watching this progress. :)

cm-10-Alpha-20130501-UNOFFICIAL-triumph.zip

Hi... I properly installed this ROM and put it thru a few paces, trials, downloads and updates.... Kudos to how far along it is already.

I installed symlinked gapps before first boot as per instructions.

Boot time for first boot was faster than I expected and it booted up perfectly... I was usb to my Windows 7 64 bit computer and the phone os immediately recognized usb, worked perfectly and I was able to install cd drivers on my windows machine. USB works perfectly.

The red jellybean icon next to the usb storage in use screen looks more like a kidney bean ....lol. This should not effect your carbohydrate intake.

Set up pretty straight forward.... found wifi....works well without any reboot and saved password (will recheck whenever I reboot). Developer options in settings is off by default...tap on and the darkened developer option screen seems fully functional.... I turned on debugging and long press back button for current app kill.

I changed the min cpu from 61MHz to a higher setting and did not overclock for this test run (performance option). I have not had a sleep of death do to wifi being on. Maybe it's possible a slow clock speed of 61MHz or 122MHz causes wifi issues on wakeup that some people report? I use 245 or 368 as my min.

I did not test the microphone, but a headsest worked perfectly otherwise with a play/pause switch on it also in tune.

Voice searchwhen using play store did not work but it tries to understand me...lol.... I don't see the settings option for the voice search to learn my voice and it's not learning it very well....lol. Most other older android os's on the Triumph do much better. I'll look for an update or similar app.

Dolphin HD browser has native flash and youtube support but stopped responding and or crashed where my homescreen reappears.

You Tube has issues (no video on the 5-7 that were briefly played)
The ...pause/play timecode controls showed and sound was good....just blank dark screen for video.

There are still many videos or sites that rely on or use adobe flash. There are reports that the latest version of the discontinued adobe flash for ICS works with jelly bean, but I can say that on this version it is usually a dark blank screen with very clear audio only.... Sometimes when you rotate the phone from vertical to horizontal (with rotate enabled), or vise versa;
the video or adobe flash may appear to work for a few seconds before distorting or going blank. I tried the last 4 releases of Adobe flash for ICS and none really worked well enough to use except for sound. Some non flash videos played perfectly with good sound sync and framerates. Some of the pre-recorded CNN news vidoeos on their site worked perfectly

The demise of flash might be a continuing trend, but there is still alot of flash out here online, and I still see it enough to want it in an everyday rom.

I'm impressed with how much of this alpha is usuable and stable and some of it impressively so.

The camera issues I encountered are identical to the others who have already posted....no preview...takes and saves a shot.... unstable and no video.... The LG camera I install did not crash even when video recording failed and all the settings and adjustments came up even if some aren't working (yet). When I tapped on the display (dark blank screen) in camera mode it did appear to show autofocus where I tapped without an image previewed.

Menus and pages were pretty smooth and fairly quick to respond with most apps tried. The stock browser worked better than Dolphin HD which was unstable and crashed when attempting to play certain videos or flash... Boat mini browser appears fairly stable as does Opera mini. Opera mini does not support flash but is a very fast browser as of late (but not in this build). Boat Mini can attempt some flash video with the latest 3 releases for ICS I found.

Pressing Location Access (in settings) force closes settings...

MX player works (play store dl) after you allow software over hardware in MX settings....Image quality, stability and sound sync appear to be very good with limited testing.

Does anyone know a version of flash that works 100% or close to it in jelly Bean?

Thanks again to all the developers who keep on updating the Triumph and all the young droids....

Cheers!
