The Bionic has been the one for me since I heard about it. I keep on liking what I am seeing.


For one I cannot fathom why the Bionic haters keep on coming here other then to troll.

Not necessarily. The Bionic forum isn't a fanboi hang-out. I'd like to think that we in the Android geekdom won't stick to one thing simply because it's a Droid or a Moto phone. If that's your thinking, I'm shocked you don't walk around with an Apple logo on your bumper.

Many of the ones in the Bionic forum are also in the Stratosphere forum and vice versa.

I like the Bionic a lot actually, I just think that there are more options out there, and so I was curious about what people were thinking.

Just like they say man, if you keep waiting on the next best thing then you'll be waiting forever. I think the Bionic is a snazzy phone and I'm sure that there's not one smart phone out there that doesn't have a bug that hasn't been patched, the person who own's the phone just hasn't found it yet. Just as people hate on the Bionic, I'm sure the Prime and SGSII will have their share of haters as well as bugs. The Bionic has plenty of up to date hardware so it'll be around for a while. And to throw my hate out there........ While you guys are in the sun squinting to watch that youtube video on your phones, me and my qHD screen on my Bionic will walk past you and laugh. lol Happy hunting guys but the Bionic is for me and I'm gonna be more than happy to buy one even at that price, they aren't gonna get any cheaper.
 
im still getting the Bionic, the fact that the galaxy s2 is no longer coming to verizon just makes my choice for getting the Bionic even easier. who knows how many times the Prime and the Vigor will be delayed before they actually hit the market.

Right, but who says I'm waiting for the next best thing at all times? The only reason I want the Prime is because it is 720p resolution. That's the only reason. I think a lot of us might at least think twice about settling for quarter HD when full HD is maybe a month away. But I honestly will stop at 720p because 1080 files are too big and would take up too much space. I don't really care about the processor speed, etc.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If my biggest need is a big, high resolution screen, then buying the Bionic IS settling.

That may be the most ridiculous reaction I've ever read. His point is actually dead on. There are haters who do nothing but come in here and say negative things and bash the phone/moto. Those are the haters who are only trolling. There are also people who probably wont get the bionic who come in and have legitimate discussions, and no one has a problem with that. If you think it's fanboyism to have a problem with the haters, then you probably just have issues with yourself that a good therapist can help you with.
 
I've wanted the Bionic since CES in January.... my "Cracked Crackberry" is really just about dead, and I am psyched the Bionic is right around the corner. I'm sticking with it! No more waiting for me.
 
you gotta kinda admire bluefire for being able hold off on the Bionic and wait for another phone. i dont have the patience to wait any longer, ive been waiting 3 months for the Bionic.
 
Baring any new info on the NP before Sept 8th that would indicate thats its coming a week later than the Bionic, the Bionic will be my next device.

If my OG Droid wasn't on it's last legs I think I would wait to see what the deal is with the NP but I simply cannot wait any longer, nor do I want to. Im going from a single core phone thats OC'd to 1.1 GhZ with 256 MB of RAM, to a dual core with 1 GB of RAM. I have a Xoom now and the dual core flies! I know I will be more than happy with the Bionic, who knows, if the NP is that ground breaking I could always sell the Bionic and get the NP down the road.
 
Yeah, blue fire has a lot of patience. he gets kinda riled up easy, though ;)

I'm 60/40 on the Prime side. I watch a ton of .mp4 flix on my phone, and i got netflix just to be able to stream from it. My phones (a crappy eris and a droid on its last legs) won't handle it so I use my laptop, but it's too big to comfortably watch a movie in public. (I ride the train 2 hours a day). If Prime really does have 720 resolution, I know I'll kick myself.

But I want a new phone so bad!!!! I dont know how long I'll be able to keep the $300 i have socked away. :(

I have no problem with his opinion of the phone. We're here to discuss people's opinions and thoughts about the phone. If it's not right for him then he should wait and get whatever phone he feels is best for him.
Its his whole "you might be a fanboi if..." rant that I took issue with

Oh ok. Well as i read the thread, i got the feeling that his rant was in response to being called a hater and a troll. (which if its true, that means there are 7 haters and trolls too, judging from the poll)

I completely understand your needs and we all have different ones. Some people settle but for me, the Bionic is my next best thing and has everything I need except the price point but it's not like I can't afford it so why not ya know. I'm looking forward to it and will probably wait a week or two after it comes out before I go get it just so I can hear the rant about all the bugs it ships with so I'll know what to expect. For me, a fast phone that I can use in direct sunlight is perfect for me. I'd like it to have a bigger screen but in any regards, a 4.3" screen is huge on a phone so it's not a problem for me. Luckily, all my needs are met with this phone as it seems that all of Verizon's flagships do.(for me anyways, well, except the OG Droid. It was just cool as hell! lol) But, to each his own and I never have and never will knock anyone for having an opinion no matter how much different it is than mine. I hope the Prime is everything you want it to be plus some, right now, that's how I feel about the Bionic.

I get your response, i don't think you over reacted. looking at the poll, i'd say the thread is warranted.

I think i'm going with Prime, mainly because of screen and fast google updates. I just hope we don't get screwed and see the Prime go to TM or Sprint. :(

Hey, no worries. This is a perfectly legitimate thread. Just realize that there are trolls on this forum, and the only thing that gets people more upset than trolling is being called a fanboi for calling out the trolls.
And as far as the thread goes, I plan on checking out the Bionic on day one, and if its everything i expect it to be then I'll be leaving the store with one in my hands

In my mind the haters are the ones that have never posted anything positive or even neutral about the phone. Commenting in the negative that since it has this or does not have that it must suck.

It was a question that had been on my mind for a while, and this thread seemd the perfect place for it, nothing against you bluefire1914.

But then this is just a forum and any Tom, Richard, or Harry can come in and spout what is on their mind.


To keep on going, You could say I am a Droid Fan, and for me what was important was what the next greatest Moto Droid was coming that was LTE compatible. I knew coming from an OG Droid that anything I picked up would be leaps and bounds ahead of my ol' faithful buddy.

I get what you're saying. And yes, I might seem to be a bit biased against the Bionic, but it's probably my bias against Moto coming across.

My general feeling is this:

I think that the Bionic is a very good phone, maybe even a great phone if the battery lasts. I was so disgusted, however, with delay after delay (as many others were) that when it was finally confirmed to be released, it just seemed like it was a phone that should have been released one or two cycles ago.

So I think that if I get the Bionic, I'd be settling for a previous-generation spec'd phone (I'm talking particularly the screen and processor speed), when the next generation specs (full HD and 1.5 GHz) are just around the corner.

Am I biased? Probably. But I wasn't the only one bitching and moaning about how much I hated Moto for their stupid delays. I'm not going to just roll over like a whimpering puppy that finally gets some attention from its owner because Moto all of a sudden decided to release the thing. I'm kind of just sticking to my guns and backing up what I said earlier, something along the lines of "If it's not out by August, I'm moving on."

Nothing against anyone here.
