So...

Yes it definitely has. I think there's just less need than there used to be. Less people rooting devices, less people needing help with smartphones in general...
Hell yes: I can remember evenings back around 2011 when three of us struggled to keep up with the posts just in the Desire All Things Root forum!

Far, far quieter than it used to be. Though I don't think that's restricted to AF, the bits of XDA I hang around are also lot quieter than the device forums I used to visit a few years ago.

so ... has traffic and participation has dropped in the last 2 yrs?
That is what i feel... even i have not been as active..

Mostly this last year.. I think. Mostly since the (fill in blank) overhaul ..BTW, a ton of old links refuse to work since the changes.. Like the Boost Mobile ZTE Force, was brought to my attention.

@Steven58 root isn't so bad on financial apps if ya manage to successfully enable the Root/Magisk-Hide.. ALL is well for most. Still

Yeah a lot has changed hey... It is very quiet indeed... There were some rocking days of oh so long ago where men were roaches and June Bugs roamed the forums in happy freedom :)

I haven't rooted in years... I can't remember the last time I rooted but yes that was a big part of why I came here long ago but eventually loved the atmosphere here so became great friends with people :)

It's sad how things have changed so much.

Sometimes change just really sucks. But I like how I can do everything on my device without having to root now.

I think its forums in General... I'm phone shopping at the moment.. so i'm looking back at various forums where i've hung out in the past... (including xda and ac), and the ones that are still left are shadows of what they used to be.

Maybe its because most phones just work (most of the time)?

Oh I don't know, there seems to be a steady flow of postings on this site. Some forums obviously busier than others though.
But yes, probably a lot quieter than it used to be.

At least Tenfold. Everyone left cuz they were mad and/or disappointed at the unnecessary site overhaul, including removing Tapatalk.apk capability to AF and invalidating many of the old working links.. (That was dirty AF and ya know it, Lol). Hopefully things will pick up a bit, I'm still posting ROMs here in AF (hoping to) see an improvement for all of us. Now, with that being said tho, you guys ( @Rob, @Phases, @Steve, @Unforgiven, and many more have been drudging thru this with us) have been phenomenal in your sensitivity and help (excluding the part where everyone was mad to begin with, Lmfao) with near everything, but it's mainly the ppl & mods as to why I come back here..

I'll betcha if I came back, I could start another melt down of a server, again- type of controversy!! Droid Incredible, Galaxy Nexus, etc. I have a way with that kind of stuffs. :p

Ty Sir... I just don't need to root. All the ol' root stuffs are now baked into the stock roms.
