Help Software update closed my device, how do i get my data?

Hi, I am using a Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 model number GT-P5113TSYXAR. I updated the software from a system notification (Samsung just sent in the new 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS update) and after the update my device will no longer start. This isn't a battery issue, what I mean is that my device keeps playing the startup animation over and over again, without actually starting. I can't use it to copy my data as it is right now so I need a way to move my data or start my tablet without factory reset. The data is in the internal memory, and the file name starts with a period, so some file managers may not be able to view it directly
