I'm on 3, when I try to check for updates.I get the"checking" symbol.and it just goes on and on...........is it just me or is anyone else getting this?

Just tried mine mate, it checks then says phone is up to date. You tried a battery pull?
 
I know ics is not out till the end of the month.but HTC are pushing out the update to a few handsets before.just checking if I was one of the lucky ones.

Htc are pushing a beta ICS update to people who are a member of their Elevate forum & have an unbranded handset. Htc only allow a limited number of people to join.
Lucky i'm one & have been using a beta ICS since the 1st of March. :D

It good, seems faster. There are still a few bugs in it which HTC are aware of & quite a few spelling mistakes too!

I can now disable stock apps, get free dropbox space & google voice actions is really good.

Over all its good, i'm using an official beta rom:

Android 4.0.3, Sense 3.6, software 3.32.401.103

Don't mean to interrupt but I live in USA and iv been keeping a close eye on the sensation forums for ICS update since HTC revealed ICS back in October of 2011 and since they listed devices that are set to receive ICS in November and then in January when they revised the list with devices such as the sensation lineup which are or already have for some received ICS update.. and i seen this HTC elevate... I have never heard of that, not going to lie but I got intrigued and checked Google and I just signed up for it about 5mins ago..well i tried anyways :-) I live in the USA and i currently have the EVO 3d and I'm very jealous of you sensation users iv been dying for ICS since release date and even before when it was a rumor so to speak. Iv had my EVO 3d since release back in May of 2011 and i sure hope It's not to late for me to get into HTC elevate if you guys know any info on that please do share thanks guys enjoy 4.0 for us Americans LOL were jealous trust me! Can't wait to join in on the 4.0 action lol :-) :-) :-)
 
I am not signed up to Elevate, but got the update on my Sensation XE OTA yesterday. And a friend got it on his Sensation. I live in Norway.
 
According to other forums its rolling out to the Nordic country's then Germany, then other European country's in the coming days.
