Software Update

Seems to be a lot of talk about 4.3 and 4.4 testing. Has anyone heard anything about a possible update of the M's software?

Sorry for the late reply, but from what I'm reading about the XT907, it doesn't look likely. Especially since it's a VZW phone.

However, since there has been a bootloader unlock released it looks like a tiny bit of developement has picked up for custom roms. I have seen some 4.3 ones.

On the other hand, look at my reply here:

Motorola software update posted this yesterday I believe.

DROID RAZR M
This device is currently running Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)

Future plan coming soon.

My M just received a small maintenance update this morning. 98.18.94.XT907.Verizon.en.US

Hmm, I just got 98.30.1.XT907.Verizon.en.US
And I honestly don't think we'll get KitKat, though it wouldn't surprise me that much if we did. Maybe 75-25 we're not getting it?

Interesting, you got 98.30.1.XT907, I just today got 98.18.94.XT907. I wonder what the difference is? My radio got updated I believe, to SM_BP_101032.021.32.80P. What's your Baseband now?

My kernel is 3.0.31-gef7deb8....
Build number 9.8.1Q-94, build date of Sep 25, 2013.

Hmm...let me just add a screen shot, that's probably smarter, eh?

Mines the same as yours.

My M also updated, but since Motorola came out with the Mini, I doubt that they are going to support the M much longer. I might have to think about upgrading to the Mini when my contract expires.

Judging from what the article says about 4.4 being streamlined to run on devices with as little as 512mB of RAM, it could happen.

But then Moto and VZW would want to preserve their respective additions, so . . . . it will take time.
