Help (SOLVED)[system app Root installations failed.. Install from market] any Work around?

Rarewolf

Ive been trying to install quick pic apk into the system.
I got it from the A.B.M.
I got rid of the stock gallery to get a less bulky one.
But once it is installed and it is started the apk asks me to install from the market place..
Is there a way to get the apk from the market place? Or am I missing something here
Or the directory to wher
e.the cache for this apk will be at and possibly how I could extract it .

Apperently, I missed the part about how when I reinstall it. It installs back into data/app folder,
So it never really installed into the system.
Os there anyway
Or is my only option to use that adb command?
It seems to work with another app but not quick pic

It didnt work.

couple of questions, do you have dark tremors a2sd?
second when you say trying to install into system do you mean opening /data/app and moving the file to /system/app?

You can move it but then you need to rebuild the dalvik-cache and reboot before you mess with it.

As for your question about Quick Pic , just open the Market and type it in . Select and download . It's FREE !!

how exactly would i be able to rebuild the dalvik cache?
would i need to get a program for that or is it something as easy as deleting and rebooting the phone?

nope no ap2sd app in my phone.

and yes i was trying to install it into system/app

theres a problem with your instructions.
im only allowed to "download" as in install...
but i want the actually android packet installer..
for i want to install it in a specific location.

i tried to do this
" i always use this very easy way : (for example with launcher pro)

install app from market or with app installer -> it gets installed in data/app

then move this app with root explorer from data/app to system/app

reboot

that´s it

permissions are already right, and app is renamed" written by markus75
which was on sam droid dot net.
Move apps to /system/app
--link didnt show up here--
(still new so i cant post websites but ill still try)
well it still failed, it asked me to install from market place (install quickpic thruough the android market)
i did it!

heres what i did i followed the instructions again but this time i changed the APKs information.
i changed the permissions and i basically turned all of them on.
i installed from market place
i moved it from data>app
to system>app
using root exlorer.
i then changed its permissions
to on on all, (only thing i didnt check was the sticky check box.)
i then clicked the app and i re-installed it.
and now it worked again.
i am a happy camper once more! :3

Edit: it didnt work! For quick pic

ok you got it and I am glad here is 2 easy ways to rebuild dalvik-cache
using root explorer go to /data/dalvik-cache multiselect select all delete

reboot phone

or using cwm recovery boot into recovery go to advanced wipe dalvik-cache
The main reason to rebuild dalvik is to "reassign" its location and permissions.
