Edit: This Is now flashable via the kitchen. Flash away.

It's hard to tell how much of a difference it makes.

As hawker stated in another thread... you really need two SGSII's, side-by-side, playing the same video, to compare.

I have been viewing two HD 1080p video's that I use for testing purposes...

Human Planet Web exclusive series trailer BBC One 1080p - YouTube

BBC Motion Gallery Japan HD - YouTube

...and all I can say is that I "think" there is an improvement but please do not ask me to quantify it.

Since it is now an easey, peasey, KitchenPro installation, give it a go yourself. :D

for advanced users only if you're trying to apply it to any other rom/firmware apart from check rom, as it involves playing around with your system filles.

for checkrom users, it's in the kitchen and works "out of the box", so is safe for anyone to try

there is no specific checks for ROM/firmware in the updater-script file Syd, so I'm guessing it should install ok on any rooted GS2 butty

Edit:
Having said that, it does delete and extract its build.prop file, so I'm not sure if its worth the risk.

Wonder how long it will take SE (or even Sony themselves) to whack a C&D on this? I'm pretty sure that'll be propitiatory code subject to copyright. ;)

its been around for a while now, it was made available to the X10 by Z, i know thats an SE phone but it was still never an official release so i cant see this being any different and SE watch XDA quite closely (as do other manufacturers).

That's hopeful, then. Nice to see a big corporation that isn't litigation-happy. ;)
oh i wouldnt be surprised if they did but i know they were watching the X10 section as a member was emailing someone there about something or other, possibly to do with the bootloader but either way we know they were reading the dev section.
Z got the bravia engine running on the X10 pretty much as soon as the Arc came out.
i think the only litigation i saw from SE over Android stuff was when Geohots was gonna hack it lol

I dont know if its related to this but over the weekend I took a few videos and notice when playing back there seems to be a split second judder or pause every 5 seconds or so. I dont recall it ever doing this before. The last things I have done to the phone are install this mod plus the nicer rotation so could it possibly be this causing the pause?

Some slight juddering in poorly lit conditions without flash enabled. I'll be honest I probably wouldnt of noticed it prior to your post. But its there and noticeable.
I'll check it outside later. I also wouldn't know if this occurred before I installed the mod.
Someone else would have to confirm.

To quote a quoter:

Found the fix, will give it a try tonight.

gokhanmoral: I have edited the post and listed the new features.

I will wait for some time before I release new version.
the hd playback problem was related with some thresholds (was my mistake again

) which came from galaxy note sources.
if you do not watch hd video, the thresholds in v2.4.2 should save more battery but they will also cause lag sometimes.
for a temporary fix, use voltage control app and increase the lower gpu freq one level but in that case it will consume more battery power than dk

you see, there is no best, every kernel has flaws

Could just be the kernal rather than the Bravia mod.

just to update, you was right it was the kernal.
I used the ultimate kernal cleaning program then re installed my kernal and I now have no judder at all.
well spotted mate.

thanks
