sorry another battery question

I am still trying to make up my mind which phone I like the best...I have everything I can possibly turn off, and went on facebook twice this morning. nothing else and battery is at 88% in the last 1 hr 50 min, screen time on is 23 mi and 20 sec. is this battery use correct do you think?
sorry to pester you guys but this is a big investment and I want to make the right one.
I forgot to add, I did a restore last night and all I added were my pictures, music and facebook, no other apps

Check the settings on the Facebook app, I don't use it so I can't tell you exactly where, but you're looking for the 'sync' setting. I've seen several times in the past where the Facebook app was sucking battery because it was syncing too often ('too often' being something of a matter of preference ). Try changing it to sync less often, or even better, sync manually if that's on option, to see if that helps.

I wouldn't choose a phone based on its battery life, particularly not when one of the competing phones has a user removable battery.

If you don't think the S4 has good enough battery life (and it's fairly much as good as any of its competitors) then buy a spare battery and swap them over if you run out.

I don't know what you are looking for in a phone but as long as you are happy with Android, I can't see how you can go wrong with the S4 - it's a great phone.

I finally un installed the Facebook app and put a mobile browser shortcut on my home screen for it instead. I have read many times that people were just unable to get the app to behave properly and that the mobile browser helped. It has helped me.

Barbz, I'm curious. Can you try testing by changing the network from the default GLOBAL to LTE/CDMA? (Seetings, More networks, Mobile Networks, Network Mode))

It really depends on what the screen brightness was on and what you were doing during that time. The screen will drain the battery the fastest from what I've been able to tell on my phone. Earlier yesterday, I was reading in Flipboard for about 10 min and saw the battery drop like 3%. It was daytime and the screen was on auto brightness. (Probably at its brightest) I have noticed significant battery drain when reading outside as opposed to inside with screen brightness all the way down.

Did you take the phone back to get a replacement battery? I know you mentioned that your iPhone's battery lasted longer the your SGS4. This should be expected since the iPhone doesn't have widgets, has a smaller screen and the screen res isn't HD. Another battery drainer is using 4G LTE. (I haven't turned mine.)

Considering how the Facebook app is major battery hog as stated already, it also depends on what all you have running in the background at th same time and If you have much auto syncing at the same time.
