I have questions about the different roms, kernels and modems.
I'm usually pretty good about reading and finding out what I need to do.
I have flashed roms and themes and different things thru the years.
There are soooo many doos and don'ts about this phone lol. I don't want to mess it up.
I have root using the root guide and thanks for that it was simple especially coming from the prevail and odin.
I want to go to gb08 rooted. I would really like if you can explain what I would need and please explain what modems and why I would need it so I grasp the concept of it all then I wouldnt be asking anymore lol.
I do understand source hasn't been released and I would need the repack (but there are different ones for that rom) to flash roms and things and to recover. I would need the stock modem (but not sure which one that is)to use as a daily. can you kinda step it and make sure I get the right modems for the job. there are so many labled different and some will work for different roms and some wont. I understand the leaked ones are the ones that are the most confusion because of the different modems you have to swap out.
I would really appreciate and promise to try and retry if I have problems and read some more before I bug ya to death lol

Nope don't need to super wipe, just download the install run the self extractor then run the installer, put your phone in download mode like you did while rooting it, connected the phone to the pc via the usb cable, and when the com port on the installer lights up hit start.
 
k cool thanks everybody for the help. I did the one click and have gb08 root.
everything looks good so far.
If I wanted to go to the touched rom what would I have to do now.

download the JB.Format_All_X2.zip and TBSGS3_V5.0_GB08.zip ( the rom) and
E4GT-EL29-directbootCWM-v3.tar.md5 . put the first 2 on your sd card and flash the thrid with odin rebooting phone will put you in recovery run the format all first and the rom second while in recovery by choosing install zip from sd card once you reboot you will have touched more info found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051374

the reason why Im asking is because I flash the el29 and it boots in recovery I cant select anything . I can toggle up and down but it wont let me do anything. I long press and it just reboots back in recovery. I guess Im missing something.
I like the gb08 stock root rom very much but would like to try this rom out.
 
What are you trying to use for the enter key when in recovery? On some of the recovery it was a tap on the power button, others it is one of the hard keys below the screen.
 
Ya know codegerm,,,, You are the man,,, I feel so stupid , I have used cwm on different devices and thought it all worked the same. I Have never had one that worked on hard keys at the bottom.
I messed with the htc evo 4g and had to flash from boot loader and from cwm and know my way around that some but I feel so stupid lol.

went flo4 everything good so far just minor bug or two but runs great.quadrant scores jumped way up from before. I dont see a change in signal here at home but this is a bad area for all carriers.
