Help Space bar and the Dot

I hit a dot all the time on my htc evo shift on the on screen keyboard. I use my right thumb all the time to try to hit the space bar. Is there any one else having this issue. If not, I will get over it! I just thought if more than one of us has this issue we can maybe have this looked into.
